The National High School Athletic Coaches Association is dedicated to serving High School Coaches and Athletic Directors throughout the United States through education, recognition, and support.

Our goal is to promote high school athletics, provide professional services to our member coaches while providing opportunities for all high school coaches. The NHSACA provides resources to promote professional growth, and attitude of teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles for Athletes, Coaches, and Athletic Directors.

The Primary Goals and Purposes of the NHSACA

It is the purpose of the NHSACA to provide instruction and training to high school and middle school coaches in the United States in order to develop the capabilities of new coaches and to improve the capabilities of veteran coaches.

Our educational focus is dedicated to more than X’s and O’s.

We see coaches as leaders – leaders who are role models to America’s youth. We offer graduate college credit programs in Coaching Leadership. Specific Sports Clinics, Educational Links on the NHSACA website, reduced rates for professional publications, as well as others to help you stay current with today’s important issues.

We recognize coaches not just for a season of coaching, but for their “lifetime achievements.”

The NHSACA Coach of the Year awards are the most prestigious awards given to high school coaches in America. Some 152 coaches earn the “National Spotlight” each June at our Annual Convention. The NHSACA also recognizes numerous coaches each year during the national convention through induction into the NHSACA National Hall of Fame. The NHSACA provides the Distinguished Service Award to state associations each year to honor and recognize coaches for their contributions to high school athletics.

Convention Information

The 2023 National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Coaches Convention will be hosted by the Nebraska Coaches Association in Lincoln, Nebraska from July 24, 2023 to July 27, 2023. There will be clinic sessions for nineteen specific sports, college credit courses, as well as plenty of time to network with coaches from across the country. In addition, there will be a NHSACA National Coaches Hall of Fame Ceremony and a NHSACA National Coach of the Year Ceremony to recognize the best of the best.
