First Night Chatham

Come join us for First Night Chatham! We are a family-friendly, alcohol free, town-wide celebration of the arts with over 70 performances and events.

December 31st, 2022 will be First Night Chatham’s 32nd New Year’s Eve celebration. The past two years have been of limited scope,but this year the plan is to come back to “more normal”. Activities will start with the Town Photo at the Chatham Lighthouse at Noon, with indoor performances as in all but the past two years,reaching a peak of noise and awe with the Noise Parade and Veterans Field Fireworks, and more activities until finishing at 9 PM.

Join Our CommitteeThe First Night Chatham Committee needs your help running this year's event. The Committee has several open positions.

We have added a page to the website describing Open Committee Positions. Please consider joining the fun and satisfaction of helping produce one of Chatham's signature events.Or Be a Specialty VolunteerWhile most volunteers work as Venue Volunteers, greeting patrons and checking buttons, we also need dozens of Specialty Volunteers who help behind the scenes, or work on a team led by a Committee member, to produce one of the First Night Chatham Special Events (such as children's activities).

Independence Day Parade
July 3rd; 9:30AMThe First Night Chatham float in the Chatham Independence Day Parade will feature Hyannis Sound, Cape Cod's award-winning male a cappella group.They are only here in the summer, so come hear Hyannis Sound's first performance for First Night Chatham.

First Night Chatham's 2022-2023 theme is Make Some Noise All Around the Town.

The schedule for First Night Chatham 2023 (12/31/22) will be from Noon to 9 PM.

Volunteer Appreciation PrizesThanks to the Chatham Wine Bar & Restaurant, we will have Volunteer Appreciation Gift Certificates again this year, which will be awarded to some ofour lucky volunteers at the Volunteer Thank-You Party in January.More detail on the Volunteers Page.

Online Button Sales ExtendedFirst Night Chatham Headquarters has buttons, and you can buy “Will-Call” buttons online for another day. Visit the Online Button Store page to buy.
Adult buttons are now $25 for the last three days of button sales.
