ISRAELA BECKER, PH.D.

I am a cognitive linguist, curretnly a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Philosophy, Linguistics and Science Studies at Tel-Aviv University, co-supervised by Prof. Mira Ariel and Prof. Rachel Giora.

I hold a master’s degree (2017, summa cum laude) as well as a major (2014, summa cum laude) in linguistics, both fromthe Department of Linguistics at Tel-Aviv University. I also hold a Ph.D. in chemistry from Tel-Aviv University (1999, with distinction), where I specialized in experimental chemical physics. Over the course of my (prior) Ph.D. studies I worked at the lab of Prof. Mark A. Johnson at Yale University.

I was a senior lecturer at AFEKA – Tel-Aviv Academic College of Engineering (2000-2013), where I taught chemistry-related courses.
