With the reissued indoor mask mandate in the city of Atlanta, along with the CDC’s recommendation that vaccinated individuals begin masking up again, we would like to update you all on Atlanta Acro Yoga’s (AAY) stance on COVID-19 policies as well as our current and future plans for the group.

Unfortunately, Atlanta Acro Yoga as an organization has made the executive decision to temporarily pause all public events (e.g. classes, jams, and workshops) until further notice and no posts regarding meet-ups will be allowed on any AAY media.
The Yogaslackers workshop that was scheduled for Tuesday, August 10th, has been canceled. Please reach out to Buddy Smith if you are in need of a refund.

At this time, we are aware of one confirmed case of COVID-19 infection in a member of our immediate community. This person has not exposed any other AAY members. If we learn of any additional cases, we will perform contact tracing to the best of our abilities and promptly inform those affected. Please keep us in the loop if you are exposed to someone who tests positive or if you have any symptoms of illness. Honest and open disclosure is the key to keeping this in check.
As most of you are aware, the delta strain of the coronavirus is exponentially more transmissible than previous SARS-COV-2 variants and there are increasing numbers of documented cases of breakthrough infections among fully vaccinated individuals. Participating in close-contact activities such as acroyoga puts us at a greater risk of contraction and spread, requiring us to be hypervigilant about preventative measures. Our highest priority is the safety of AAY members and of the community at large, so we must take a step back for now.

We know there are a lot of new members of our community since classes and jams resumed and would like to extend the warmest of welcomes and a sincere “thank you” to each and every one of you for helping Atlanta Acro grow in such a wonderful direction during what are undeniably difficult times to navigate.
We apologize for any disruption of acro plans and we are all incredibly disheartened and disappointed to share this news with you. Please know that we have everyone’s best interests at heart and will continue to update the group as we learn more.
