Tuesday, 13 December 2016 Wakey wakey, 4 more hours to go

In two more minutes, three hours more to go before my friends and I will departuring for The Land of the Rising Sun.

Finished packing my bag at 1a.m. and then straight to bed. I managed to cut down the number of tops I'm bringing over.

After so many travels, I have yet to figure out how many tops I need to bring especially cold countries. Japan is cold but I'm not worried about it that much. Her temperature is not what I'm afraid of, its the windchill. Nevertheless we only staying around Tokyo, which I'm quite comfy with.

Managed to get 2 hours of sleep before getting up at 4am to get ready to go to the airport. Currently on the PIE towards Changi Airport and the island of Singapore is so quiet and tranquil at this hour.

Well finally the trip that my Minituare Arts Studio kakis and I have been planning since last year has come to fruition. 6 more hours to go and I have yet to finish packing my back.

Sadly instead of 8 of us going, only 4 of us going. We going to the Land of the Rising Sun, land of anime and the grail for scale modellers such as us.

We are gonna soaked in the fun and atmosphere there. Well its not my first trip there but this time its my first time going there with friends.

So 6 more hours to go and I have yet to finish packing.

They only one that been constant is video-gaming. I'm not a great gamer just your below average home leisure gamer.
Simply put, I have never complete a single 8-bit or 16 bit games from nintendo or sega coz simply i sucked at it i guess. However, i quite proud that I managed to complete a collection of games from the PS1, PS2,PS3 and PS4. Sometimea i wonder whether the games designer of the 8-bit and 16-bit era designed the games hard or I'm just sucked at it.
Lately, I have decided to take up on another hobby that i gave up when i went to secondary school. Its plastic kit scale modelling.
I was introduced to it by my late grandpa. A small 1/ 144 F14. i enjoy constructing it and i was hooked on it. But i stopped as i grew up and only recently as of 2008 i reembraced it.
Took up a basic modelling course which is followed by basic mecha course and then last i took intermediate aircraft modelling course.

The last entry was in 2012 and now its 2016. i have not updated it for 4 years. Incredible that this blog still existed.

4 years has gone and many things has happened to me. I met Yuki once again since we last since each other since we broke up in 2002.

We tried to rekindle our love and tried long distance relationship but alas it lasted a year. Biggest problem was my non commitment to communicate over the phone, skype, whatsapp. kinda deserved it i guess.

After Yuki, Celeste came into the picture. it was one of my longest relationship i ever had. almost settled down with her but she doesnt want to commit. she rejected my proposal 3x. after that hell, time to move on. Age catching up with me.

Currently, I'm seeing this gal. She someone i knew since young. She is my primary school friend's sister. not sure how long this will last though. Will savour the moment while it last.

Well, thats done. quite a long post though.

He entitled it "rumbled in the jungle". I submitted it and it was selected for judging and need to bring down to the competition place for final judging.

Well, his display was taken and judged by the panel and then displayed in The Gunpla expo for public viewing for 2 weeks. In the end he did not win it but as a consolation he was ranked top 80. What make me proud was his model was put up in an international blog.

I hope he will learn something fro this experience. As it is, he said he wants to try again next year.

He wanted to do a ruined building diodrama but due to the complicity we changed the plan and recycle the earlier diodrama. We decided to add another model but a destroyed enemy mecha. We have yet to name the diodrama.

The Recycled Diodrama.We recycled the diodrama scene, removed some trees. Now we scratched our heads to place the models and we came out with a new scene and this is how it looked like.

We agreed to this design and we proceed to complete the rest of the model. And the version one of the diodrama looked like this.

Well this is how the completed version will look like. Will be teaching him to do some weathering though I have to say my weathering is not that good. In fact it will be the first time I will be doing it. Crossing fingers it will looked fine.
I completed 95% of the commisioned work but i've decided to abandon it coz of the decaling. One thing I hate to do is decaling especially if it's water decal. Hate it man. Here are some pics of the commisioned work.

Yup. its been 10 days since October came and Halloween Sale is up in fury.

Nothing much to say except that, I will be sending in my student with special needs Gundam Model for the 2010 World Cup competition. Its the same model, I sent for the school's Arts Fest display. Except this time, he wanted to change the look. One thing I like about Gundam Gunpla, is its flexibility to pose in various position and depending on its grades, it flexibility varies.

My student's completed model is from the HG series and he built the first Gundam that revolutionize the mecha series. His model is RX-78-2 aka "The White Devil".

This is the completed model RX78-2. The whole base was made by me out of recycling material except for the ground soil and the small hill. The model is his. The picture was taken after the Arts Fest display was over. Will put up more photos of the Arts Fest version display. Currently, we had discussed about how we wanted to display the diodrama and he wanted a destroyed building behind the model and we have yet to start on building it. Enough said about the Gundam Gunpla.
I was asked by a P6 student to help him build his Tamiya Fighter Plane model 1 month ago and I made a grave mistake of agreeing to it. Why? Its been a long time since I last build a Tamiya model and now I'm hooked with Gunpla especially RX-0 Unicorn. Gunpla is easier because I no need to paint. Painting is optional for Gunpla but Tamiya Models painting is a must.
I have to admit that painting is not one of my best strength and my plastic model kits is not that good. Still in the novice stage or beginner's stage. After much hiccups, over-coating and what ever not's here is the half-completed model.

As I was saying my painting skill sucks thus I decided to deviate from the colour scheme that was provided and did a new scheme. A bit weird but they say in modelling, let the creativity flows.
