Description:

Welcome to the PDS Small Bodies NodeThe Small Bodies Node (SBN), a part of NASA's Planetary Data System, specializes in the archiving, cataloging, and distributing of scientific data sets relevant to asteroids, comets and interplanetary dust.More specifically, SBN seeks to archive data from:space missions (primarily NASA, but also from other national agencies) that target small bodies or that have collected small bodies datalaboratory and ground-based data collected in support of small bodies missions as well as contributed ground-based observationscollected information about small bodies from published literatureNASA missions are obligated to archive their data within PDS so most of the data is related to and in support of NASA missions. Ground-based observers are not required to archive their data (because they are often funded from non-NASA/public sources) but are welcome to contribute their data.Data Analysis Proposals SupportProposers please note: If you are planning to use PDS data for your ROSES data analysis proposal (e.g., Discovery Data Analysis Program, Cassini Data Analysis, Lunar Data Analysis, etc), please note the archive status indicated on the top of each dataset webpage. A status of archived or locally archived indicates the data are in their final form, while certified indicates there are minor editing corrections still to be made. Data sets with other status levels may be either in active development, or considered to have some significant deficiency. Proposers are urged to consult the ROSES solicitation and the appendix for the Program Element to which they are proposing for the specific guidelines on the use of spacecraft data in general and data sets with known issues in particular.Data Release ScheduleWe have a data release schedule that has the proposed dates of when data provided to the SBN for archiving will be publicly available. This is a proposed schedule and users should not be surprised if missions/projects are late.New @ SBN2020.05.27+ Rosetta RPCMAG Raw/Calibrated/Resampled v9.0 data sets for all missions phases. (60 data sets total)2020.04.20+ Rosetta-Orbiter OSIRIS Narrow and Wide Angle Camera PRL thru EXT3 67P Resampled-E/F Data (In-field Straylight corrected) has been released (134 data sets).2020.04.08+ The already released Rosetta-Orbiter RPCIES PRL thru EXT3 67P Raw Data are now lien resolved. The only changes include updated/new documents, catalog files and calib/ies_modes.tab file. No data has changed.
