Okera plays the same brand of melodeath, but with more warbled vocals (aka more growly) and a noticeably brickwalled production, which is a huge shame because the music is very good. For fans of Be lakor, there s no chance you will dislike this - and vice-versa.Dynamic Range Value: DR5 V_Shaft I would classify Myridian as Viking Metal; in the same vein as Amon Amarth. However, while AA may have hit the proverbial wall, Myridian is still growing as evidenced by their latest offering. Additionally, AA is not (and, quite frankly, never was) able/inclined to perform with the passion/range of Myridian. New to this album is a high/low register of growls, tighter songs/instrumentation, and a whole new emotive response via the listening experience. Buy it+25% of the low asking price! 5 stars! Melancholic Rage An excellent album from beginning to end. It grabs you and doesn t let you go. Relentless drumming, virtuosic guitars, strong vocals, intelligent lyrics and a very tight sound. The atmosphere this album sets is amazingly dark and disturbing. One of my top 5 favorite metal albums of all time. Highly recommended. This band absolutely deserves more recognition. I hope to hear more from them in the future. Exceptionally well done! trioptimumsystems An assembly line of crushing doom, blistering death-rock, and misery-laden black-metal, powered by a one-man torture machine. Bandcamp New Notable Jul 15, 2016 Zeal and Ardor return with a searing new EP that pushes past their gospel-metal hybrid and into darker terrain. Bandcamp New Notable Sep 4, 2020 This is the definition of raising the bar. Myridian s last album was good but this is something else. Towering complex songs, beautiful melodies and solos, amazing growls with even better clean vocals. The first two tracks alone are 24 minutes long without a wasted second. Listen to Nidellavir which may be one of my favorite songs of 2020 so far. Jesus... the depth of these songs is incredible.
