Welcome to the Brandman Leave Center! This is your full service center dedicated to supporting you and your family in the event you need to take a leave of absence. This website provides in-depth information about the types of leave available to you, state and federal guidelines and Brandman University policies. You can request a leave electronically by clicking the Request Leave button below or by calling (888) 370-9723. Request Leave Brandman University offers different types of leave to eligible employees. Certain leaves are required by State and/or Federal law, and only those employees who are eligible for the leave under the applicable law will be provided with such leave.Employees who will be absent for 3 or more consecutive days for any reason other than a scheduled vacation, must request a leave of absence. You can request a leave of absence by clicking on REQUEST LEAVE at the top of this website or by calling the Brandman Leave Center at (888) 370-9723. A Leave Center representative will contact you either by email or mail with additional information and instructions to complete the leave process. For more information regarding your leave entitlement, please refer to the Brandman University Employee Handbook or contact the Brandman Leave Center at (888) 370-9723 or BrandmanLeave@controlsourceinc.com Volunteer Civil Service LeaveVolunteer Firefighters, Reserve Police Officers and Emergency Rescue Personnel Leave FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE (FMLA) Brandman University provides eligible employees with Family and Medical Leave, in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Medical Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA may be used for a continuous time period, or on an intermittent basis. Eligibility Requirements Eligible employees are those who have:Completed 12 months of service with the University (the service need not be consecutive); Worked at least 1250 hours during the 12-month period immediately preceding the requested leave; andWorked at a location where there are 50 employees of the University within a 75-mile radius.For the birth of the employee’s child, or placement of the child with the employee for adoption or foster care; To care for the employee’s spouse, registered domestic partner (under the CFRA), child or parent with a serious health condition;For the employee’s own serious health condition, which prevents him or her from performing the functions of his/her position;Because of a qualifying exigency (as defined under the FMLA) arising out of the fact that the employee’s spouse, son, daughter, or parent is on active duty or call to covered active duty status (“Military Exigency Leave”); orTo care for an immediate family member or next-of-kin who is a covered service member recovering from a serious injury or illness sustained in the line of active military duty (“Military Caregiver Leave”).
