Cold Spring Harbor Laboratoryis a leading international center for research and education. As part of its mission, each year CSHL organizes 25-30 scientific conferences, 20 Banbury Center meetings and 30 advanced technical science courses, with organizers, instructors and participants from all over the world.COVID-19:CSHL conferences and courses have gone virtual, been postponed or cancelled outright. We held CSHL's first ever fully virtual conference on Systems Biology in March 2020 and by year's end, we had hosted 5 virtual courses and 26 virtual meetings, including a series of conferences dedicated to COVID-19/SARS CoV2. We remain fully virtual through much of 2021, with plans to transition back to in-person courses in early fall, with meetings resuming in person after mid-October 2021, though we anticipate a slow and careful transition.SPECIAL EVENTS:We are happy to host ISH 21on behalf of the International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology, July 13 - 20, 2021.NEWS:We congratulate the 2020 Nobel laureates in Chemistry, and note that Jennifer Doudna is one of the founding organizers of our annualCRISPR meeting, which began in 2015 and attracted 750 scientists to attend virtually this pandemic year. 2019 Nobel Laureate William Kaelin being interviewed by Jan Witkowski at the 2016 CSHL Symposium on Quantitative Biology - Targeting Cancer.
