Or abusive, unloving overstrict parents is even more effective. Add neglect and deprivation, emotional and physical, at an early age. Fast forward to puberty and the teen years, mixing in violent video games that take the place of normal outlets like sports, music, friends. Then add more violence on Tv, movies, rap. Finally, leave guns where the young person can get to them. Especially the assault rifles, they kill the most people in the shortest period of time.Then just sit back and wait for all that repressed anger ato boil over and observe the result. The republicans are not going to agree to anything unless they can screw the little people bycutting "entitlements". These people have a lot of gaul. We bailed out the wall street crooks and the bankers, now they want us to give them our pitiful retirement funds to keep them in their cushy jobs and vacation homes. We could cut the deficit by cutting the pentagon budget. What is with Leon Panetta? I have a recipe for cutting the deficit, getting jobs back for america. 1. Repeal the free trade act! 2. Repeal the Glass-teagall Act.3. Let the Bush tax cuts expire.4. Kick the NRA lobby out of Washington. Pass an act to outlaw the selling of assault weapons to the general public. Also fix it so the gun shows have to do background checks on every gun they sell.5. In fact I think that the government should limit the sale of guns period. If you think it is harsh, tell that to the parents of those 20 six-year olds in Newtown, Conn.I think we should get out of afghanistan. Use our soldiers to police the cities to reduce crime and the schools to improve security. I also think we should stop pouring funds into that country and Pakistan also. We Pour money into these places then they stab our soldiers in the back and scew us over. Where was it they found Osama Bin Laden? I would also set term limits for congress and the senate. This would prevent them from building dynasties and becoming so entrenched that no one dare oppose them. Talk about big brother, I agree that our freedoms are being eroded very slowly . But the tea partiers, congress and the republicans don't see this as a problem at all. They are focused on removing the safety net for poor people, the elderly and children. The Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional! Let's get rid of it! Too much government control! Word has it that the Justices have already voted but that they wont announce the verdict until June. Can any of us imagine what the USA will be like if the Republicans and congress have their way? I believe that it will put this country back to 1920--1930. My grandparents were so worried about going to the poorhouse and being buried in the paupers cemetery when they died. We all lived together, 4 adults, 4children, one bathroom for all the time we were growing up. My boyfriend in High School had lived in an orphanage when he was young for a time. His father did not support them and his Mother left them their till she got a job. I was born in1939 after the great depression, but there was still a war looming. I can remember, ice boxes, old oil stoves, coal furnaces. Everybody that could work did. But, you know, people talked to each other they respected the law and we were together. We knew we were loved and cared for. He ruled it was ok for police to make strip searches on anyone picked up for a minor offense. The law use to prevent this kind of thing from happening if it was a case of a minor infraction. Since 9/11 that changed. The court ruled against a man in New Jersey who was strip searched in two jails following his arrest on a warrant for an unpaid fine, that he had really paid. Justice kennedy said that the circumstances of the arrest were of little importance. Justices Alito and Roberts concurred with Kennedy. Kennedys reasons were 1. detecting lice and other contagious dideases, tattoos, evidence of gang membership, drugs, weapons. Kennedy also said people arrested for mior offenses can turnout to be the most devious and dangerous of criminals. He cited Timothy Mcveigh as being stopped by a state trooper because he was driving without a license. Now I have to ask, did the state trooper strip search Mcveigh? And was he stopped from doing what he did in Oklahoma city? We should all be afraid, very afraid. Justice Kennedy must be a real piece of work. The tea partiers are so militant about not letting the government control us via the Affordable Health Care Act. This is something that would actually help people. I quit Macy's. It all got to be too much. I was sick of working with people who refuse to pull their weight and get mad at you if you ask them to help with cleanup. Management keeps hiring these dysfunctional types. They don't seem to be able to spot the burned out alkies, druggies, and people with obvious personality problems. I and another coworker could tell one girl was alcoholic. If you have ever been around them, they have a stale beer smell that is unmistakeable. We didn't say anything, but when she called off every saturday and then the customers noticed, she was history. It was too bad, she was actually a good worker when she was there. Macy's also changed their rating system, making it tougher to achieve the goals that they set for us. They also changed the scheduling, eliminating my part time day job. So I mostly got crap hours when there wasn't much foot traffic. Then I was hounded about not making the goals, not getting enough accounts, etc, etc.I came to the conclusion that they really don't care about who they hire. I thought they got rid of the bad ones after jan first. Lo and behold they hired more. I just couldn't stand it any more. My feet were hurting because I had to work 30 hrs. in order to make the goals. What I did was take extra day shifts when I knew it was a peak time. I got rid of the 3 hour shifts by advertising them, (putting them out for anyone to take). But as I said, my feet were hurting. And at 72, I really felt It was about time. If I have to go back to work for the money, it should be something where I use my knowledge and background in nursing, etc. For now, I feel much better and my only problem is getting my weight down. The flimsiest of excuses are being offered by supposedly the most intelligent and well educated lawyers in the country. If the law can mandate people buy healthcare or be fined, then the government will beordering us what to eat next.Yeah right! Roughly translated, this move to repeal the law that would actually do good for many folks that I know, will result in more suffering for poor people who don't qualify for medicare or medicaid. I worked with many folks who actually earn too much money (15,000.00 per year) too get on these programs. And while I agree it is silly to fine a person making less than 20,000.00 but more than 10,000.00 per year, I think they should be exempt from fines and insurance should be provided for them. Also, I think young people who don't have access to insurance but are working, should be included in that category. People are stupid when they say, they have a right to refuse healthcare. What if you have an accident and are dying? I told my sister that something bad was going to happen and it may have already started. Mom has been complaining of a pain in her bottom since christmas. I should have realized what it was. anyone who sleeps in a chair for six months is bound to develop a pressure sore. Why won't she get into bed at night? The bed is too hard, says she. Hmm. Excuse no. 3 or 4? So I called her doctor and got her an appt. She was happy that I did that. And I asked brother Rich to help get her a foam mattress pad. He did. Will she use it? We will see. The doctor said it is superficial at this point and he didn't think she would benefit from using a tegederm patch. well we will see what develops.
