CD Release: Zamba NegraA South-American-inspired musical Landcape. Presenting music by Javier Contreras (Chile), Roland Dyens (France), Lucas Saboya (Colombia) and Sergio Assad (Brazil), Zamba Negra is a voyage into Salazar's cultural roots. The colourful 'Cuatro Piezas Peruanas' features Peruvian black dances such the 'Lando' and 'Festejo'. Writen by Javier Contreras and dedicated to Emerson Salazar, this work was awarded first price at the Boston International Guitar Competition 2017. Strongly influenced by Brazilian music, Roland Dyens wrote 'Hommage a Villa Lobos' in 1987. In this piece, Dyens explore the endless timbres of the guitar and deploys modern extended techniques along with humorous, elegant and virtuosic style. 'Suite Ernestina' composed by Lucas Saboya reveals an extraordinary lyricism, a refined harmony and joyful South American rhythms, notably the Zamba, a 3/4 or 6/8 dance from Argentina. The technically challenging 'Aquarelle' by Sergio Assad draws on a wide range of compositional influences, such a Brazilian Rhythms, intrincate counterpoint or the whole-tone scale, giving life to a fine and vibrant musical work. First prize winner at the XXXV Andrés Segovia Guitar Competition in 2010 and Luis Sigall Music Competition in 2012, he has delighted audiences in Europe and America through his solid technique and musicality.In June 2013 he premiered John McLaughlin´s  second guitar concerto “Europa” with the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva, and Doron Salomon as conductor.Emerson Salazar began his career as young musician in Chile, where he gave his first guitar recitals and started to appear regularly on radio and television programs. Later, this virtuoso participated in numerous premieres of solo guitar works and played with various orchestras in Chile.
Much of this work was carried out for free, with the purpose of bringing the guitar to all social circles. During this period, Emerson Salazar completed a bachelor degree in Music at the Pontifical Catholic University, Valparaíso, under the tutelage of professor Guillermo Nur. 
In 2007 he was granted a scholarship by the Government of Chile to pursue a Master degree at Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria, where he studied with the guitarists Eliot Fisk and Ricardo Gallén. In 2010, he received the Master degree with summa cum laude.In 2013 founds the Duarte-Salazar Duo, along with portuguese guitarist Mariana Duarte, releasing in 2015 the CD 'Danzas de Fuego'.Since 2007, Emerson has kept an intense artistic activity with performances in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria and awards in different competitions such as Miguel Llobet 2016 guitar competition in Barcelona and Josefina Robledo Competition 2009 in Valencia.
 Emerson Salazar currently lives in Munich, Germany, a city full of culture and art, where he found a suitable environment to pursue his artistic work. 1° Prize and Audience Prize at International Guitar Competition Miguel Llobet.– Barcelona, Spain.
