Never fear beautiful skin is near...Here is a nice exfoliating face wash for our more sensitive skinned readers. I personally use this as a regular face wash to get my skin in tip top shape. It is a bit smelly, but if well rinsed this should not be a problem. Cleopatra apparently bathed in sour milk...so this is a similar, and perhaps less expensive secret to great skin.
1 part whole fat sour cream to 1/8 olive oil
mix together
Preserve in refrigerator until sour cream due date.
Apply to face cold in circular motion avoiding eyes. Rinse with warm water or leave on longer as a mask and wipe with warm washcloth. Sour cream may be substituted with plain sugarless yogurt, however I like sour cream best!No comments: Labels:face, recipeWinter Pantry Face ScubDuring the colder months (or throughout the year for those with drier skin) face scrubs are a must. However, if all the parabens and abrasive ingredients in popular scrubs such as St. Ive's don't do it for you, there are much cheaper, natural, and gentler options.
olive oil and sugar scrub
1/8 olive oil to 1 part sugar
mix together in small container
refrigerate for preservation
honey and sugar scrub
1 part honey 1 part sugar
mix together in small container
refrigerate for preservation
Like with most scrubs, wet face with warm water before application to open pores and to smoothen product on face. Do not get the face too wet as the scrub with dissolve, as they are made with truly natural products. Also, avoid eyes when smoothing in circular motion. It is best to make both in small batches (tablespoons at a time) to avoid waste. Salt may be substituted for sugar. However, avoid use of scrub if you have broken skin, as it may worsen the problem and may cause a burning sensation.
If you have very sensitive skin, I recommend a sour cream or yogurt rinse , which removes dead skin cells with lactic acid instead of a harsher scrub. No comments: Labels:face, recipe HomeSubscribe to:Posts (Atom)artless archive 2008(2) October(2)Sour Cream Face WashWinter Pantry Face Scubartless tagsface(2)recipe(2)artless alliesNaaniNatural Hair DigestSkin Deepartless aficionadosDisclaimerAlthough every effort has been made to provide complete and accurate information, the artless aesthetician makes no warranties, express or implied, or representations as to the accuracy of content on this website. the artless aesthetician assumes no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the information contained in the website or the operation of the website.
