Conspiracy theories by nature are hard to substantiate since conspiracies are by definition conducted under a shroud of secrecy. And while such conspiracy theories seem to appeal to those less inclined to actually investigate their various claims, Christian-based conspiracy theories are even more so — because their basis is made on the back of vague or mysterious biblical prophecies. This has spawned Christian-based conspiracy theories about the COVID19 pandemic being one of the Biblical plaques prophesied in the book of Revelation; the death toll from COVID being the prophetic fulfilment of at least one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse and that Bill Gates is actually behind the coronavirus and is in the wings waiting to release the nano-chipped COVID vaccine that will fulfil the biblical prophecies about the mark of the beast . Embracing such conspiracies theories without due consideration for what First Thessalonians 5:21 means in these matters often leads people to become disillusioned with the bible (and Christianity) — as each of these so-called “the Bible predicts ” statements — is proven to be wrong. This is utterly regrettable. It’s time we take seriously the biblical injunction to “test all things” and to only “hold fast to that which is true.” That’s what I m trying to do on my YouTube Channel.
