NATURE RESERVE AND SURROUNDINGS

A pristine area

The Waterberg Biosphere Reserve is located in the province of Limpopo in the Republic of South Africa. It covers an area of about 400,000 hectares with a distinct vegetation.
It is one of the 400 registered biosphere reserves in the world, placed on the UNESCO list. The Waterberg Reserve was formally put on this list in 2001. The natural environment, rich in water reservoirs preserved in pristine condition, allows for various animal species to thrive here, including “The Big Five” giraffes, zebras, warthogs, pigs, hyenas, leopards, monkeys, almost all species of antelopes, larger and smaller rodents, many species of birds, insects, reptiles and amphibians.

Private nature reserve

In the Waterberg range, just two and a half hours drive from Johannesburg, there is a private nature reserve with an area of 2,100 hectares with a picturesque and varied landscape and rich flora and fauna, accessible only to its owners and their guests. A great advantage of the reserve is that there are no tourists / the so-called commercial tourism / there is no malaria in this area and there are no predators in the reserve. At any time of the day you can go for a drive by car, a hike or ride a bicycle.

We sincerely invite you to our African lodge with a place for rest and relaxation with the possibility of observing the inhabitants of this nature reserve.
The lodge has a living room with TV and kitchen, five double bedrooms with bathrooms and a partially covered terrace with deckchairs, swimming pool and a hot tub spa.

Guests have access to 24 hour free internet, DSTV, NETFLIX PLAY STATION, APPLE TV and a place dedicated and prepared for night parties.
Two safari cars are available for guests to travel around the nature reserve.

Saloon with a TV and bar

The spacious and comfortably furnished saloon is a common place inside the lodge where you can relax depending on your mood and preferences.

A terrace with an extensive view

The spacious terrace, which you enter from the living room is partly covered – a place for resting and get togethers. In the open part of the terrace you can rest on a deck chair, cool off in the pool or in the evening make use of the hot tub spa. A specially built terrace with stairs going down to the ground is a place where at any time of the day you can listen to the sounds of the surrounding nature while observing the animals.

Safari cars

Two safari cars are used to move around the nature reserve. For the guests use there is an: 11-person Ford Ranger with roof top and a 4-person fully restored and functional Land Rover Defender from 1959.

Five double bedrooms with bathrooms designed with great care and comfort in mind. Equipped with all necessary things, the rooms provide privacy and relaxation at all time during your stay.

EXPERIENCE THE ADVENTURE

Staying in the wild nature reserve, after some time makes us completely and unnoticeably a part of it, we hear more and see more. Such surroundings calm the emotions, ease things and relax incredibly. Around the nature reserve, we get around using a car with full field of view, we observe nature while comfortably seated. At any moment, we can stop, eat something or drink, for example a chilled wine or … take a walk with a camera. In and around the reserve area there are many interesting places worth seeing: ambient settlements, villages and towns such as Vaalwater, Modimole, Bela Bela with warm thermal waters and others.

The National Parks located in close vicinity are worth mentioning:
– the nearest and the largest because of the area of 34,000 hectares the Welgevonden Game Reserve with “The Big Five” which we particularly recommend to visit due to the numbers and diversity of animals,
– breeding farms, e.g. – Lalele Crocodile Farm, where we can see different size crocodiles up close and personal and there are 17,000 of them there, there are also unique places such as – Bambelela Wildlife Care&Vervet Monkey Rehabilitation Farm with cute monkeys who found shelter and help here or – the Marakele National Park that lies among the mountain slopes
