Our Properties
Hunter Properties/Hunter Storm has a track record of focusing its efforts locally. All major projects have been developed in the Bay Area, allowing the principals to leverage their market knowledge and expertise evenly across the three product types. The portfolio is a near equal mix of retail, office (both medical and professional) and self storage. This balance allows the company to take advantage of market fluctuations to help maximize investor returns by developing a diversified range of commercial/industrial buildings.

Derk Hunter’s first development deal came in 1960, back when he was 30 and a company called National Cash Register could still name itself for a mechanical product and be thought of as prestigious.
He and the late Roy Demmon were at the start of their partnership and the deal was – for them and the times – huge.
They put together a building at 1625 The Alameda, where the company now known as NCR could long-term lease the 12,000 square feet it wanted in “a nice part of San Jose” for 14 cents a square foot. The other 28,000 square feet they rented at a higher rate to a group of tenants to cover the mortgage.
“We were flying by the seat of our pants,” Hunter recalled of the company, then named Demmon-Hunter. He had agreed to the partnership because “I knew Roy had gone to Yale and Harvard business school, so I knew he was smarter than me.”PRESS PAGE
