Product Description

EA Nutra Buteless High Strength Solution is designed to provide extra support and comfort to hardworking joints and muscles in performance horses and ponies.

Buteless High Strength Solution is also ideal for older horses, when years of wear and tear on joints.

This unique solution, combining Boswellia, Yucca and Marshmallow extracts, provides high levels of phytochemicals (plant-derived) and antioxidant compounds to support joint comfort:

Boswellia serrata: grows in the dry, mountainous regions of India, North Africa and the Middle East, and the resin from the Boswellia genus is also known as frankincense – which tells us a little about how long it has been considered a valuable resource!

Recent research has indicated that it is a group of compounds called boswellic acids, found in Boswellia, that help anti-inflammatory processes.  Furthermore, one of the boswellic acids, abbreviated to AKBA* ( acetyl-11-keto-B-boswellic acid) has been shown in both human and animal studies to be the most active of these important compounds which support anti-inflammatory processes

EA Nutra Buteless High Strength Solution contains a unique Boswellia extract, containing 78% AKBA – many times higher than conventional Boswellia extracts, providing an extremely high level of support for anti-inflammatory processes, and helping to maintain joint health and comfort.

Yucca schidigera: Has also been used for many years, in both humans and animals, and its main roles are thought to be supporting anti-inflammatory processes, and as a potent antioxidant. Yucca contains several physiologically active phytochemicals (plant compounds) including polyphenolics, which are antioxidants. Limited research has also suggested that another group of compounds found in yucca -the saponins – may also have properties which also help to support joint health.

Marshmallow (Althea officinalis): is probably the plant from which the well-known confectionary treats were originally derived in the 19th century – mixing the sweet sap from the marshmallow root with egg whites and sugar. However, as well as a sweet sap, the marshmallow plant also contains a number of other phytochemicals, which may help anti-inflammatory processes, and support joint health and mobility

What are the benefits of Buteless High Strength Solution?

Helps anti-inflammatory processes and support joint health and comfort in both performance horses and older horses and ponies.Contains exclusive 78% AKBA Boswellia extract, as well as Yucca and Marshmallow extracts.Palatable and easy to mix in feeds.Low sugar and suitable for horse and ponies.Batch tested in independent Labs in the UK and France, and suitable for horses competing under FEI rules and The Rules of Racing.

For Total Gastric Health

Advanced and effective pelleted formulation to help maintain digestive health and comfort.Contains key ingredients traditionally used to help soothe the stomach lining, including pectins, lecithin, aloe vera, marshmallow root, glycine, liquorice.Slow-release calcium and magnesium from marine algae, to help maintain a healthy gut pH.Beta glucans from high nucleotide yeast to support gastric content viscosity.Contains Pre and Probiotics to support a healthy gut microbiome. On a palatable alfalfa and soya hulls base, to provide a fibrous mat.

Equine America is BETA NOPS and UFAS assured which means that full product traceability is in place, along with a quality assurance program which minimises the risk of contamination of the feed with prohibited substances and NOPS. Products are formulated to be suitable for horses competing under FEI regulations and the Rules of Racing.

Product Description

Horses are designed to trickle feed – grazing for up to 16 hours a day. This means that they need to constantly secrete acid to help digest this almost continual source of food entering their stomach. A grazing horse will also produce up to 9 gallons of saliva a day which as well as lubricating the food, also acts to help maintain a healthy gastric pH.

Furthermore, the physical presence of food in the stomach acts as a fibrous “mat” or barrier, helping to prevent acid splashing onto the upper, unprotected areas of the stomach. So if access to forage (pasture, hay, haylage) is restricted, acid continues to be produced, and with restricted chewing time, less saliva is produced which may affect a healthy gastric pH.

The lower portion of the stomach (the glandular area), where the acid is produced, has several natural protective mechanisms, including mucous production and bicarbonate secretion, but the upper portion of the stomach (squamous area) has no such protection. If the horse is worked with a mainly empty stomach, when he trots, canters or jumps, or even just tenses his abdominal muscles, this acid can splash or be squeezed up to the unprotected area of the stomach The horse has a small stomach, and food does not stay in there for very long, so even short periods during the day without access to forage can cause problems.

In addition to restricted access to forage, there are other factors which have been reported to increase the incidence and severity of digestive disturbance, including:

Stress – social stressors such as bullying from stable neighbours or herd mates, or box location ( for example near the feed room or muck heap, resulting in increased activity past the door) have been shown to increase the risk.High starch diets – may result in increased volatile fatty acid production in the stomach, which may, in turn, result in abnormalities with sodium transport leading to cell damage in the stomach.Limited turnout and reduced access to natural antioxidants from grass.Intense training and competition schedules and frequent travelling, especially long-distance.

Benefits of Uls-Gard Pellets

Natural nutritional support for gut health and comfort (Calcium, magnesium, lecithin, pectin, glycine).Key ingredients traditionally used to soothe the stomach wall (Aloe vera, marshmallow root, liquorice).Beta Glucans from high nucleotide yeasts to support a healthy gastric mucosa.Pre and Probiotics to help support a healthy gut microbiome.Alfalfa and soya hulls base to provide a fibrous mat.Palatable and easy to mix for fussy feeders.Suitable for foals at a reduced serving rate.

Additional management factors to help support digestive health and comfort.

Turnout to grass where practical and possible, ideally with a placid companion, even if only for short periods.Ensure ad lib forage, where practical. For good-doers, where calories are restricted, offer very frequent, but controlled amounts of forage, with the largest allocation overnight. Select clean but low-calorie forage to enable larger amounts to be offered.Offer forage in different locations in the stable to encourage natural foraging behaviour.Try to reduce social stresses such as bullying stablemates, or proximity to the feed store.Feed a good double handful (or one round scoop) of alfalfa chaff before exercise or competition warmup to provide a fibrous mat in the stomach - even if forage is available in the stable or lorry.Consider replacing some starch-based calories with Equine America Supreme Omega Oil in the diet.

Product Description

Cortaflex® HA Regular powder is designed for the nutritional maintenance of healthy joints in horses and ponies in light to moderate work, or older horses needing a little extra mobility support!

Cortaflex® HA Regular  Powder provides a tried and tested blend of key compounds, with low sugar levels,  making it suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Cortaflex® HA Regular Powder includes collagen, hyaluronic acid, trace elements and amino acid building blocks to provide essential nutritional support for maintaining healthy cartilage and joint fluid. Cartilage is the spongy, elastic material which covers the ends of the bones within a joint, acting as a major shock absorber, and helping to reduce friction. Joint or synovial fluid should be thick and viscous, to bathe and lubricate the joint, also acting as a vital shock absorber.

Provides key nutritional building blocks for joint support including collagen, amino acids, MSM, hyaluronic acid and trace elements.Suitable for all horses and ponies in light to medium work, and older horses and ponies to support mobility.Low sugar - suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis.BETA NOPS and UFAS accredited,  ensuring our products do not contain prohibited substances and are suitable for horses competing under FEI regulations and the Rules of Racing.Tried and tested with over 2 million units sold worldwide

Ingredients & Nutrition

Key Ingredients

Collagen – one of the most abundant proteins in the body, and provides the structural framework for cartilage, to help give it strength and elasticity.  We are proud to confirm that we use a sustainable and ethical source of marine collagen.

Hyaluronic Acid – a key compound called a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) which helps to maintain the viscosity of the joint fluid, to lubricate the cartilage and act as an additional shock absorber.

Amino Acids – to provide the nutritional building blocks for the production of the amino sugars. The best known amino sugar is probably glucosamine, which is important as a subunit for the production of other compounds called glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which then bind to the collagen framework in the cartilage, to help give it greater strength and elasticity.

MSM - provides a natural, bioavailable form of sulphur which is a key mineral for the bonding of compounds within the cartilage framework, to enhance strength, and also helps to maintain a normal inflammatory response.

Key trace minerals including manganese, silicon and copper - which all play important roles in the production of structural compounds such as chondroitin, as well as in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. These minerals also play key roles in the production of important antioxidants.

Magnitude Powder

For A More Relaxed Horse

Helps to reduce tension and improve concentration and focusSupporting a healthy nervous system5% Magnesium Oxide (which contains 52.7% Magnesium)6g Magnesium per 5g daily serve

Ingredients Per 5g Serving

Magnesium Oxide 4.88g (of which 2.6g Magnesium)Calcium Carbonate 130mgCalcium 50mg

Product Description

Magnesium is an essential mineral, playing important roles in many areas of metabolism. One of its major roles is as a co-factor in the enzymes involved in nerve and neuro-muscular transmission – helping to regulate nerve to nerve and nerve to muscle transmission and communication.

A lack of magnesium can result in nerve and neuro-muscular excitability, resulting in a tense, nervous horse.

Stressful situations such as strenuous activity and competition, travelling, prolonged stabling and lack of grazing, or new environments may further increase magnesium requirements as stress levels rise.

Magnitude provides supplemental magnesium, together with controlled amounts of calcium (another key mineral in nerve and muscle metabolism), to help promote healthy nerve function and reduce tension, enabling the horse to focus and concentrate.

What are the benefits of Magnitude?

Magnitude provides magnesium from Magnesium Oxide, which is produced from calcined magnesite, extracted from natural deposits in the earth. The Magnesium Oxide used in Magnitude typically contains 52.7% elemental magnesium.

Natural source of magnesium to supplement low or marginal levels in forage.A very small daily serving of 5g provides 2.6g elemental magnesium, easily mixed in feed for fussy feedersSafe use with most typical fortified performance and leisure feeds and forage.

Colour Change

*Slight colour change - but the same great product, now with even more quality assurance!

We are pleased to confirm that there is no difference in the magnesium levels, or the chemical source of the magnesium used (magnesium oxide - MgO), only in the physical form of MgO we are now using.

This change in physical form (to the slightly more granular form, with a pale beige colour) has arisen because we are delighted to report that we are now manufacturing Equine America (UK) products in the UK, using certified facilities with the highest standards of safety and production. Although Equine America (UK) products have always been free from prohibited substances, our new UFAS and BETA NOPS certifications will provide further reassurance in the light of recent high profile prohibited substances cases, giving our customers peace of mind regarding FEI, BEF and BHA prohibited substances, enabling full traceability.

In order to comply with the rules and regulations regarding these certifications, we are only able to use certain suppliers, who are also certified, and have had to make a change to our supply of magnesium oxide, so we are now using the lower dust, slightly granular form, which is pale beige.

If you have any queries, please no hesitate to contact the Office.

Product Description

Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution is designed for the nutritional maintenance of healthy joints in horses and ponies in light to moderate work, or older horses needing a little extra mobility support!

Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution provides a tried and tested blend of key compounds, in a low sugar, palatable liquid, making it suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution includes collagen, hyaluronic acid, trace elements and amino acid building blocks to provide essential nutritional support for maintaining healthy cartilage and joint fluid. Cartilage is the spongy, elastic material which covers the ends of the bones within a joint, acting as a major shock absorber and helping to reduce friction. Joint or synovial fluid should be thick and viscous, to bathe and lubricate the joint, also acting as a vital shock absorber.

What are the benefits of Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution?

Nutritional support for cartilage  (collagen, amino acids, MSM and manganese)Antioxidant defence (MSM and copper)Joint fluid support (hyaluronic acid)Bone and connective tissue repair (MSM, manganese and silicon)Suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis, including those where the use of glucosamine is a concern for owners.

Ingredients & Nutrition

MSM – provides a natural, bioavailable form of sulphur which is a key mineral for the bonding of compounds within the cartilage framework, to enhance strength, and also helps to maintain a normal inflammatory response.

Key trace minerals including manganese, silicon and copper - which all play important roles in the production of structural compounds such as chondroitin, as well as in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. These minerals also play key roles in the production of important antioxidants.
