The Ramones Shirt – Let’s think of t-shirts.  Let’s think of the most popular t-shirts of all time.  I heart NY, The Rolling Stones Tongue, and how about The Ramones shirt…you know the one.  Apart from being timeless badasses of Rock, The Ramones had one of the most solid identifiable vibes in Rock…you could say ‘Branding’ but it wouldn’t exactly fit the poison of the look.  This vibe is synonymous with NY cool of the punk era, and it was so resoundingly simple and pure.  Arturo Vega ‘The fifth Ramone’ is decidedly responsible for a big part of the vibe, he made the t-shirt design and designed the Ramones logo.  I’m excited that this legend will grace some gallery walls in Amsterdam shortly.  Klerkx agency is welcoming him for his solo exhibit ‘Insults and Windmills’  opening Friday, September 21st at Bacardi House.  If you can you should go, sneak peak images and portraits of this stud included above.

3D Printing – 3D Printing is on the verge of becoming a ‘household term’.  Although the 3d printing or ‘rapid prototyping’ industry has been at use in the architecture and industrial sectors for several decades, the technology with the help of projects like RepRap is finally becoming something that the commoner can afford to use.  Eric Van Straaten’s work,  is one of the chief trailblazing examples of 3d printing technology at use in the arts today.  These amazing, albeit lusty and surreal sculptures are printed one minute line at a time, color included.

Stroke Art Fair – Stroke Art Fair is / was / will be a fair to match our vibe.  We’re off to the Berlin edition for 2012, later this week (Sept. 13 – 16th), can’t wait…like Berlin, anxious to feel amongst ‘our people’ .   They do more live painting by far at Stroke Fairs than any other fair we’ve yet attended and they do a massive good job bridging the gap between the traditional ‘fine art’ fair, with the youth and power that needs to be celebrated when you take on a term like ‘urban art’.  The stuffiness is generally totally removed from the vibe, but the collecting crowd does turn out and they bring the support the participants need to keep making these fairs rocking.  We’ll be bringing a sampling of work from artists we’ve shown this year, Amanda Marie, Deedee Cheriel, VINZ, OVNI, Stefan Golz, Astrid Koehler…
