Our guide and driver Giannis was incredibly knowledgeable on all the places we passed through and visited. The transport was very comfortable and he is a very good driver given the narrow roads he had to negotiate at times. Everyone we met at the various stops was very friendly and eager to answer any of our questions. The scenery was spectacular. All of the places we visited were very interesting and represented different parts of Cretan culture. John S 26/12/2021 Delightful December afternoonThis was our first visit to Chania and we randomly chose Fabulous Crete tours as we wanted a tour of the countryside. Given it was Christmas week, we were quite pleased when within a few minutes of our registering we received notice with info about the next day pickup at our hotel. Our driver Janis was a delight, and a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about Crete history. We visited a museum, a church built into a cave, a bakery, a cheese factory, an olive oil factory, and a divine restaurant where we ate too much, but as is the custom, ended the culinary experience with a glass or two of raki. The program for the evening moved seamlessly between cooking lessons, lessons about Crete and the local culture, socializing while tasting the local wines, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings on a walk through the farm - and of course, eating the delicious meal at the end! Giannis the guide is informative and entertaining and has a real passion for what he does, and the two others on his staff who helped run the cooking class were also wonderful. The dishes we made were quite common Greek/Cretan dishes, and not complicated to prepare. However, the tour was much more than just the cooking component, and I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a pleasant and educational evening with delicious food, a beautiful view, and good company. Cargo55 21/10/2021 Highlight of our Cretan stayThanks to the GS Tours Chania Team for a great experience.We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Our host was entertaining and interesting and provided a commentary on the way up the hill to the White Mountain home where the class was held. He explained the history and geography and all about the Cretan way of life. After a welcome drink we were introduced to the teacher and the owner of the house and began our class. The outdoor setting was excellent and we prepared a number of Cretan dishes before heading inside for a wine tasting. his description of the wines was great and we learnt about the way they make the traditional local red. We visited a small museum and he provided a short brief on the fascinating history of Crete. We then sat down for dinner to eat the food that we had prepared which was served with a local Rose wine.A very immersive experience where we learnt about Cretan culture, foo and history and how they are all wrapped up together to create the modern Crete. Recommended for a fun afternoon/evening experience. David N 21/10/2021 Very Informative & Thorough TourMy wife and I participated in the WWII - Battle of Crete Day tour in August. The driver was quite friendly - and the guide was quite knowledgeable on the subject. We were able to see quite a lot of the sites - several of the beaches west of the city, the Prison Valley and Galatas - Maleme and the German Cemetery - and several sites near Suda Bay including the Allied War Graves.
