The Young Peoples Trust for the Environment is a charityset up to encourageyoung peoples understanding of the environment.Founded back in 1982, it aims to giveyoung people a real awareness ofenvironmental issues such as climate change, pollution, deforestation and endangered flora fauna.

It also aims to provide balanced views to take into account the realities of the modern world. Young people need to know all of the facts in order to make their own decisions about how they want to shape their world for the future.

Better Planet Schools

Better Planet Schools is an online environmental education programme, created by the Young Peoples Trust for the Environment to engage children and teachers in the UKs primary schools. The programme aims to engage students and teachers to learn about and take action on key issues like saving energy to tackle climate change; reducing use of plastics and other waste and increasing recycling; fast fashion; air pollution; and creating new habitats for wildlife to thrive. Schools choose three learning modules per year, with each module lasting a school term. With new modules being created each year, children and schools can be engaged year after year in learning more about key environmental issues and how they can make a difference with their actions.

Primary Awards for Green Education in Schools (PAGES)

The Primary Awards for Green Education in Schools (PAGES) is a new awards scheme for primary schools in the United Kingdom. PAGESaim to assist and encourage environmental education for young people aged 5-11. They promote cross-curricular work on the environment and ANY work you are doing at your school covering any kind of environmental issue can be entered. PAGES link with the National Curriculum for England and Wales, the Northern Ireland Curriculum Primary and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence,click hereto explore our guides.
