We acknowledge the continued systemic effects of anti-Black racism in America’s institutions--in policing, judicial and penitentiary systems, religion, academia, education, home ownership, and healthcare—and the disproportionate violence it inflicts on African-Americans.  To our African-American students, fellow faculty and staff, and Pittsburgh neighbors, we see you, we are listening, and we commit to being advocates of anti-racism. Course Spotlight: The Pittsburgh Torah Scrolls Project The students in Dr. Rachel Kranson’s “Jews and Judaism: Modern” course researched the histories of ten of the Torah Scrolls that can be found in the Pittsburgh area.  Digital Humanities Projects Browse the project information on The Meyers Excavations Digital Archives Project and Footprints: Jewish Books Through Time and Place.
