We believe it is this combination of teaching mediums that underpins the success of our courses and workshops.PR statistics was founded by Oliver Hooker during his PhD. His aim was to provide high quality, ecology based courses for people at various stages of their academic and professional career. /This is done by providing a platform with which research driven and pioneering scientists in academia with a strong affiliation with statistics and ecology, can connect with not only new up-and-coming scientists, but also those with different research interests and disciplines. Since running its first workshop in December 2014, by the end of 2019  PR statistics, PR informatics  and PS statistics will have delivered over 160 individual courses and workshops.  This has allowed us to provide training for over 2200 scientists from nearly 350 different institutes spanning over 68 countries making us the largest and most leading independant training compnay for statistics and bioinformatics in Europe. Currently across our three companies we provide traing for approx. 550 people a year A majority of these scientists are PhD students, (~55%), but we also receive a lot of applicants from Dr’s already in research and academia, (~40%) and Prof’s who are further on in their career (~5%). During 2018/19 financial year  after acquiring our bespoke teaching rooms in Glasgow  we significantly increased the number and variety of courses being provided to 36 from 19 the previous year, this includes courses overseas, in-house courses and consultancy. Experts in their field, many are involved in the development of new methods, author and contribute to ‘packages’ and have published scientific material in their field. Over two thirds of our participants are from overseas, this is of huge importance to PR statistics when selecting its venues. All of the venues we use have all-inclusive options which provides accommodation and meals; the benefits of this we feel are invaluable.Group cohesion is always greater which in turn transpires in to a more enjoyable learning experience during classes. It removes the stress of arranging additional travel, accommodation and meals, reduces the overall cost and provides a fun environment in the evenings to unwind, discuss research and make friends (or even collaborations).All our venues are either situated in national parks or areas of high ecological interest so there is always something to appeal to ecologists. The importance of this is it provides distractions, a reason to escape outside after classes, allowing time to relax which in turn helps the learning process.
