A Gift For Don: The Strength To Keep Teaching

For years, Don, a teacher and Project Angel Heart client living with HIV/AIDS, relied on instant mac and cheese and microwave dinners, which were easy to prep when he was tired and not feeling well. But these meals weren’t supporting his health, and he ended up in a health crisis. “Now I microwave [Project] Angel Heart meals, but they are healthy, nutritional, very specifically calculated meals for my health,” Don says. “And that’s enormous.”

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We care about the health of the people we serve and the health of our planet, which is why we’re committed to making sustainable choices in our kitchen and workplace. Our sustainability efforts range from choosing sustainably sourced ingredients for our meals to making composting and recycling a priority.

Our Impact

Medically tailored meals led to a 13% decrease in hospital readmissions.

Total medical costs for people with CHF, COPD, and diabetes decreased by 24%.

Clients spent less on hospital stays while receiving meals.
