Sauberan, M.D., of Eye Surgical Associates in Lincoln holds a monthly clinic at the Kearney Eye Institute in Kearney. Specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus, Dr. Sauberan is board certified and a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his Ophthalmology Residency in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Sauberan then served as general ophthalmologist at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE, and also served in the United States Air Force as a General Medical Officer at Davis-Monthan AFB n Tucson, AZ. He then completed his Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship at Children s Mercy Hospitals Clinics in Kansas City, MO. In 2009, Dr. Sauberan was selected to the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG). Dr. Sauberan is the only pediatric ophthalmologist in Nebraska to be selected for this program. The Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) is a collaborative network dedicated to facilitating multicenter clinical research in strabismus, amblyopia and other eye disorders that affect children. He completed his preliminary residency in Internal medicine at the Marshall University School of Medicine. His Ophthalmology residency and Vitreoretinal fellowship were completed at The Ohio State University. He is board certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology.He and his wife, Nicole, have two children and live in Hastings.Dr. Terrell is employed by Retina Center of Nebraska in Hastings with satellite offices in Grand Island, Kearney, and North Platte. Retina Center of Nebraska accepts multiple insurance plans including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Midlands Choice among others. Dr. Craw is a Nebraska native and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He received his Doctorate of Optometry with honors from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He has worked with SVOSH, the student chapter of VOSH International (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) in both Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic providing eye exams to over 2,000 patients. Dr. Craw enjoys traveling with his family and maintains his private pilot s certification.'> Kyle N. Craw, O.D. Jan Jensen, M.D., joined us in 1976 and continues to see patients on a part-time basis. Dr. Jensen obtained his pre-medical education at Nebraska Wesleyan University and received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine where he performed his internship and residency. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Jensen and his wife have one daughter.'> Jan V. Jensen, M.D. John C. Welch, M.D., of The Retina Center in Hastings holds weekly clinics at the Kearney Eye Institute in Kearney. After graduating from Hastings Senior High School, he was a National Merit Scholar and Four-Year Regent Scholar at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Welch graduated Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. His residency in Internal Medicine was done at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston MA, his residency in Ophthalmology was done at State University of New York in Syracuse, NY, and his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease, Surgery, and Ocular Tumors was done at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Welch is board certified and an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.'> John C. Welch, M.D. Dr. Jordan Rixen, specializes in cornea, cataracts, anterior segment and laser vision correction. He graduated from Iowa State University and received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed an internship at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. After residency, he remained at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to complete a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Rixen has clinics and performs surgery in Lincoln, Crete, Syracuse, Tecumseh and Nebraska City, Nebraska.Dr. Rixen is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Lancaster County Medical Society and the Iowa Eye Association.He and his wife, Erin, have two sons and a daughter. Dr. Himebaugh completed a one-year internship in internal medicine at the University of Utah and a three-year residency in ophthalmology at West Virginia University. He completed his formal medical training with a fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine. Clinch, M.D., joined Kearney Eye Institute in 2002. Dr. Clinch graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Naval Medical Center in Virginia and did his ophthalmology residency at Ohio State University where he served as Chief Resident. While in the U.S. Navy he completed specialty training in undersea and hyperbaric medicine in addition to diving medicine.
