For the past ten years, we had Ted Nicholson make his creations for us, but now it is your chance to add your Christmas Creations to our collections. The winning artist will have their artwork featured and printed on the 11th Annual Merrill Christmas Card and will be available for sale during the upcoming Christmas season.Entries must designate a Merrill Christmas scene past or present. Contest entry dates are August 1st to September 3rd. Each contestant may submit one entry using any of the following two-dimensional mediums: acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, or oil. Each entry must be 12 x 18 , mounted and framed on tag board or foam core. Judges will select one image which captures the essence and spirit of the Christmas season in Merrill. The winner will receive a $250 Merrill Chamber gift certificate and have their artwork featured on the 2021Christmas card and used in future promotions. Christmas is such a wonderful time in Merrill, and it is your chance at show your Christmas in Merrill memory or vision stated Cheryl Skoug, Programs Manager. Merrill is lucky to have many talented artists. The image of Merrill brings back many memories for people, they mail the cards out to people around the world. Submitted artwork becomes the property of the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce and may be used in various promotional displays. MERRILL, WI The Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that applications for tourism advertising grants are available. The deadline for application is August 6 at 12:00 Noon.The Merrill Chamber of Commerce is the administrator of the tourism program for the City of Merrill. The Chamber and the Merrill Tourism Commission have established a program to encourage and promote the expansion of tourism in the Merrill area. Organizations interested in promoting tourism in the Merrill area may apply for assistance in marketing their event to attract visitors from outside our local areas, with the purpose to promote tourism and create paid overnight stays.In addition to the application, applicants are required to disclose their advertising plan, organizational budget and source of funding when completing the application to be considered for funding. Non-complete forms will not be considered for funding.Applications can be picked-up at the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce, 705 North Center Avenue.
