July 3, 2020GCS Update GCS has been working on the development of plans for a safe and effective return to school for the 2020-21 school year. We expect face-to-face instruction to be implemented, and as you may be aware, we will also be adding an online school in the fall that aligns with our face-to-face instruction.  Although the online platform is not our primary mode of instruction, it will be a high quality alternative that we are pleased to be able to provide as an option for our families.  The MI Safe Schools Return to School Roadmap that was released by the governor on June 30th provides us with a set of parameters that will be used to enhance the protocols that we have been working on to effectively bring our K-12 students safely back to school. We anticipate that the GCS plans will be completed in late July and released to the public after board approval. The final plan will address how to safely resume academic and extra-curricular activities. During these trying times we are committed to meeting the needs of each and every student by being nimble, flexible, and diligent.  We feel that a diverse approach provides our community, students, and parents with the flexibility to make an informed choice that will best meet their needs.  We will continue to keep you informed throughout this process, and you can also keep track of updates by checking the GCS Website.
