Fasset Operational Lockdown Dear Fasset Stakeholder We tuned in last night with abated breath alongside the rest of the country to listen to the Covid 19 address by the President Cyril Ramaphosa. As Fasset we breathed a sigh of relief when the President announced that the lockdown will be eased based on a risk-adjusted strategy with five (5) alert levels over a period of some weeks with effect from 1 May 2020. We still await to hear the granular details which will be published by government next week. We will then develop a detailed Fasset COVID-19 protocol which will set out how Fasset will operate during the Level 4 alert stage commencing on 1st May 2020, and this will be communicated to you the soonest. My name is Lethabo Semetsi and I am a proud beneficiary of the FASSET Bursary. Before I was on the FASSET Bursary, my fees were being paid for by my father who could only afford to get me through my first year of studies. I have always dreamt of having a Commerce degree, but due to lack of funding it looked like this would be unobtainable. When I was told about FASSET I felt a glimpse of hope; I applied and was awarded the funding. My name is Yolande, a student at Rhodes University studying towards a Beam degree. In 2018, a friend told me about the FASSET funded bursary and advised that I should apply for it. My application was successfully approved and all the perks of being a beneficiary began to unfold.
