COVID-19 UPDATE Following new government guidelines we have had good news that we can start operating our seal trips again. However, as you can imagine, we have had to make several changes to comply with new guidelines to keep us all as safe as possible while at the same time, still make it an enjoyable trip for you. Seating will be greatly reduced to comply with social distancing. Please take careful note of the following so you know what is required before you book…. PRE BOOK BY PHONE IN ADVANCE - we will have to take a contact number from you which will be kept secure for 21 days. BE ABLE TO EMBARK / DISEMBARK WITHOUT ASSISTANCE FROM THE CREW BRING YOUR OWN HAND SANITISER TO USE BEFORE BOARDING BRING YOUR OWN FACE COVERING which must be worn at all times while on-board (unless exemption applies) – this follows the latest legislation PAYMENT IS TO BE MADE ON THE DAY. Card payment is often available but not guaranteed due to poor WiFi connection on the quayside so please arrive with cash just in case (the correct amount wherever possible to avoid handling change.) Due to the reduced passenger numbers ALL TICKETS ARE 13 – adult or child (under 2’s go free). THE NATIONAL TRUST TOILETS CAF ARE NOW CURRENTLY OPEN ON MORSTON QUAY, the caf is card payment only and toilets are operating with social distancing measures so please allow extra time. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO LANDINGS ON BLAKENEY POINT and all seal trips will last approx one hour FOLLOW THE LATEST RULES ON SOCIAL DISTANCING (2m on quayside, 1m on board with face covering). PLEASE NOTE THAT IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION SOCIAL DISTANCING MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE PLEASE FOLLOW STAFF INSTRUCTIONS AS THEY ARE FOR EVERYONE S SAFETY – we reserve the right to refuse passage for anyone unwilling to comply with the above - no refunds will be given. With 50 years experience of operating in Blakeney Harbour, a trip to the Blakeney Seals with Beans Boats offers a rare opportunity to get up close and personal to the resident Grey seal and Common Seal colonies without causing disturbance. After boarding one of our five custom ferries at Morston we head up Morston Creek and out into Blakeney Harbour. Relax and enjoy the beautiful Norfolk Coastline from the shelter of the harbour or keep an eye out for resident and migrating birds. As Blakeney Point is one of the most important sites for migrating birds in Europe, there's plenty to see on our way to the Seal Colony. Passing the old Blakeney Lifeboat station our crew tell you something of the local history and about the harbour before you arrive at the end of Blakeney Point where Common and Grey Seals can usually be found hauled out. We spend time getting in close and turning to allow plenty of opportunity for photos, inquisitive seals will also frequently pop out around the boat. Time and tide allowing (see timetable) there is an optional landing on Blakeney Point before returning to Morston to disembark.
