Beth Patton Named Acting Superintendent of SchoolsAssistant Superintendent Beth Patton was named acting Superintendent of Schools, effective immediately, at the June 11, 2020 Board of Education meeting. The Athens City Board of Education voted unanimously on June 11 to place Superintendent Trey Holladay on administrative leave at the superintendent's request. Mrs. Patton has more than three decades of experience in Athens City Schools, and has served most recently as the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative and Instructional Services and Director of Student Services and School Operations. She is also the Executive Director of the Athens City Schools Foundation.
