But a plot that you can see is insane, but you can follow that he doesn t. That he s crazy.That s the thing again: We hadn t seen a really crazy Joker for 40 years at this point. All due respect to The Joker s Five-Way Revenge! (in Batman #251 by Denny O Neil and Neal Adams), he was just a dangerous sort of character. We hadn t seen a crazy homicidal maniac, and that s where I wanted to get to with him. It hadn t been there for 40 years, or 35 or whatever it was, but nobody said, as far as I remember, people didn t go, 'Well, what the fuck is this?' They all said, 'Oh yeah, that s the Joker!' If I can handle it, Superman can handle it. But I think there's a certain degree of, if he's that powerful, couldn't he change things? We're kind of leaning into the idea that he's a really good man and wants to do the best for us but he's not actually human. He doesn't want to break us but he's gotten to the point where he thinks maybe he should break us, maybe we need this. It's slightly scarier than Superman as an authoritarian dad with heat vision eyes, it's more of an alien perspective saying, "I've had enough of you. It's clear, and kinetic and his Dick Grayson is ridiculously pretty.So it's a little surprising that he's only drawing one image for this issue(But it's not what you think)laughing_treeFunnily enough the way the X-line has propagated from the House of X/Powers of X beginning, it runs in parallel to how a new state has to set itself up in the real world. Which is, you start from a position of "we are new, we are perfect, nothing is wrong with us."
