Dan Nguyen Congratulations toCardinal Kevin Farrellon his appointment to the College of Cardinalsby Pope Francis. Announcing 17 new Cardinals on Sunday 9th October the Popeincluded Bishop Farrell, who was recentlychosen to leada new Vatican Department for Laity, Family and Life,among them. Cardinal Farrell is a Drimnagh nativewho grew up in Galtymore Park and as ayoung man served Mass along with his brothers in our church. His mother attended daily Mass in the Parish and was involved in the McAuley Centre,serving our elderly parishioners for many years. His brothers were sterling supporters of the McAuley centre as fundraisers. The Parish community is enormously proudof our native son who is now the highest ranking Irishman in the Vatican.Every blessing and good wish from all in Drimnagh toCardinal Kevin as he takes on his new ministry of service to the Universal Church.
