Originally, the MEHSA website was to be lapsed after its present term expires on October 31, 2016 as dwindling input over the past few years seem to indicate a decline of interest in the website. However, since the announcement was posted, there has been a flurry of email activities from many who have voiced their appreciation and gave very strong support in keeping the site active. Based on the overwhelming requests of many who have written in, it is obvious the website is well regarded, serves a purpose supporting the MEHS community, and consequently will be continued.Thank you all for your expression of support, kind words, and interest in keeping the site going. Special thanks to Myo Thant, M.D. (Michael Tin Hla) who has kindly volunteered and will be contributing his technical expertise and efforts to keeping the site active and to improve the overall system. Please continue to support the site and Michael by actively participating in sharing your MEHS Experiences, Alumni news Photos for all of us to enjoy.As a special bonus and benefit of this renewed interest, Cecil Wagstaff wrote in from Australia and shared a historic document a copy of the first MEHS Alumni Newsletter (MAN, Vol 1) sent out in 1988 by the original publishers: sister Juliet Teoh Bilinski, Dr. Leo Kyaw Thinn, brother David Teoh, and Ying Ying Thaike. A decade later with emergence of the then nascent world-wide web, the MEHSA.org site was created in February of 1998 in the same spirit and aspirations articulated by MEHS founder and principal Mrs. Logie in her welcoming note, to link and connect all the dispersed students, staff and friends of the Methodist English High School .Almost two decades later, I am glad to report the web-site not only met, but has far exceeded all our collective expectations as evidenced by the many re-connections of classmates, school teachers, rekindling of friendships, and facilitation of subsequent reunions that have taken place in many countries including the UK, USA, Thailand, Burma and Malaysia. The generous sharing of individual memories from days past and photographs has enriched all our collective memories. It has been a very satisfying and rewarding experience for me to have played a small part in reuniting the MEHS community. In accordance with the instructions, Basic Education High School No.(1) Dagon (former Methodist English High School) need to be opened in mid July.There are about (6000) students in BEHS(1) Dagon and the Principal,Teachers and Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) need to prepare COVID-19 prevention matters in time before opening of the school. In this regard, we would like to invite contributions from the MEHS /BEHS (1) Dagon Alumni to arrange the following materials for the students before opening of the school in time.Body Temperature Screening Equipment.Basins for hand washing.Sanitizers.Face Masks.Face Shields.Gloves.Hand Gels.
