Interdisciplinary innovation, discovery and education to improve health policy Our scholars span the social sciences, engineering and medicine — from pediatrics to geriatrics, law, economics and decision sciences. Our publications, commentary, media mentions — and reflections on this historic pandemic. We conduct field work data analysis around the world, working with local communities in developing countries to combat child nutrition, tropical noncommunicable diseases. Faculty researchers work with policymakers, state federal agencies to improve health outcomes for patients, and study costs and quality of care by health providers. SHP trains the next generation of health policy leaders, offering a concentration in health services policy research for medical students, post-doc fellowships and MS PhD degrees. SHP is a community of faculty, students and researchers within a variety of centers at the Stanford School of Medicine and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, all working to improve the health of people around the world.
