Have a Wonderful Winter Holiday Season!Class Types for 2020-2021Traditional Face to Face: Meets all posted days and times in a classroom with a live instructor.Traditional Face to Face Staggered: Students are divided into smaller groups and attend face-to-face with the instructor on assigned days of the posted days/times. On alternative days, students are expected to attend virtually via live-stream of the class at the posted time, view a video of the alternative day s lecture, or participate via online assignments.Web-Blended/Hybrid: All students meet face-to-face for one day a week with the Instructor and the rest of week participate online.Web Synchronous: Completely online, students will log into a virtual meeting room at the posted days/times for live instruction.Web A-Synchronous: Completely online, students will participate by reading and viewing assignments and responding to written or recorded coursework by posted deadlines.************************************************************************************* ADVISING * ADVISING * ADVISING * ADVISING * ADVISING * ADVISING *For CHN (Chinese) / FRE (French) /GER (German) / JPN (Japanese) / SPA (Spanish)Level 101 (3 credit hours) is for students with little to no experience in the language. Not open to native speakers.Level 102 (3 credit hours) is for students who have taken 2-3 years of High School language classes with good grades, or equivalent experience. Level 102 fulfills Pre-College Curriculum requirements and General Education Element 6. Not open to native speakers. If you are recommended to begin your university studies at the 102 level due to previous study or experience, and receive an A for 102, you will receive an additional three (3) credit hours for 101 automatically.Level 201 (3 credit hours) is for students who have taken 3-4 years of High School language classes with good grades, or equivalent experience. Level 201 fulfills Pre-College Curriculum requirements and General Education Element 6. Native speakers should contact the Department Chair for placement options. If you are recommended to begin your university studies at the 201 level due to previous study or experience, and receive an A or a B for 201, you will receive an additional six (6) credit hours for 101 102 automatically.Level 202 (3 credit hours) is for students who have taken 4+ years of High School language classes with good grades, or equivalent experience. Level 202 fulfills Pre-College Curriculum requirements and General Education Element 6. Native speakers should contact the Department Chair for placement options.
