Hi there!Welcome to the online home of me, Alexander Gordon Smith! I’m the author of twelve novels for children and young adults, including the Escape From Furnace series, The Fury, The Inventors, the Devil’s Engine trilogy, and the soon to be published This Book Will Kill You. This is a brand new site, but I’m currently uploading a ton of stuff that might be useful, including loads of information about my books, and some really useful resources for writers. My parents wanted to call me Gordon Alexander Smith, but they knew that if they did that my initials would spell GAS, then my nickname at school would be Gassy Gordon and everyone would be mean to me. So they switched my names around and called me Alexander Gordon Smith, but they still gave me the name Gordon. So I have to introduce myself by my middle name everywhere I go, which is really annoying, and the terrible thing is that my nickname at school was Gassy Gordon anyway. I always reply, but sometimes my email is blocked—especially by overzealous school email filters. This week I received a really interesting email: My new book is out today!!!I do love a good crime story, and so I decided to write one!! My newest novel, Paper Girls, comes out today, published by Zertex. It’s a fast-paced and furious story about a police detective in the UK who is also a single dad to three girls. Here’s the blurb! It’s a fact, I probably spend too much time designing apparel… But there’s something really cool about wearing T-shirts and hoodies branded with your books. Anyway, here’s the latest design. I’m making some to take with me on my US trip. What do you think? I’ll see what they look like when they’re printed, and maybe even finally try to get my store up and running. And that’s why I’ve just finished writing a brand new crime thriller called Paper Girls, which is coming out next month. It’s being published by Zertex Crime, a new publishing company based in Scotland, and I’m quite excited about it! Some AMAZING news just in!! Awesome audiobooks publisher Tantor is releasing the fourth and fifth books in the Escape From Furnace series!!! So for those of you who love to listen to your stories, you can finally finish the saga. Fugitives is just out, and Execution is on its way. It’s a different narrator, but the same great story. It is, I think, by far the scariest thing I have ever written. H C T I W is based on a recurring dream I used to have when I was about five—a dream about a witch, a room, a table full of meat.
