Locker Clean Out
Each cluster has identified a day for locker cleanout. Once your child has cleaned out their locker, backpacks should remain at home. Students may use their locker to store only their cell phone after that time. Cell phones should not be carried on their person during the school day.
8th Grade Activities - FAQ
What should my 8th grader wear to the dance and party? Event coordinators defined the dress as "snappy casual". Guidelines were provided with the 8th grade activities packet that defines the items that are excluded. Another copy was sent by email last week, or you may pick up a copy in the Main Office.
What does my 8th grader wear to school on Thursday? 8th graders should wear their promotion ceremony clothes to school on Thursday.
What does my child do during the Yearbook Signing Party if we didn't purchase a yearbook? The PTO will provide a packet that students may use for autographs.
Can we still buy a yearbook? Yearbooks are on sale until they are gone. You may send $50 cash (no checks) to A109.
How long will the ceremony last? The ceremony includes speeches by students and presentation of awards and accomplishments. After the speeches, students are called alphabetically by last name. We expect the ceremony to last less than 2 hours, however families are often delayed after the ceremony with traffic leaving the event.
What will my 8th grader do with his or her yearbook on Thursday during the Promotion Ceremony? All students will be provided a large white envelope. They will place their yearbook and cell phone in that envelope when boarding the bus, teachers will hold them and they will be returned after the ceremony.

*This will take place for 8th graders, during 8th grade lunch. Food trucks will be set up near the amphitheatre and students who participate will be required to stay in that area during the entire lunch period.
High School Credit Course Parent Information MeetingPin Oak offers a number of courses that qualify for High School credit. There are advantages to taking advances course work, but there are also some significant things to consider. We invite you to join us Thursday night to learn more about coursework your child may be eligible to take while at Pin Oak. We will discuss our process for making placement decisions and discuss the potential impacts to the high school transcript and college admission. We will meet in the MPR at 6:00 p.m.

Summer School Counselor Approval FormIf your current 8th grader is planning to attend Bellaire High School in the fall and is interested in taking original credit summer school this summer, they will need a signed Counselor Approval form. You may pick one up from the Main Office or one was attached to the email blast announcing this blog post. One additional orientation will be held on June 5th. Check the Bellaire High School website for more information.

No Incompetes (INC) This Grading Period
As we wrap up the end of the last grading cycle, all Incompletes (INC) must be cleared and no Incompletes (INC) will be assigned for the final grading period. Make sure your child knows the deadline each cluster is setting as the final day to turn in work. You should be able to find that on the cluster website/blog no later than Monday evening. Any assignments that remain incomplete will become a zero in the grade book after the deadline.
Ordering Food for Delivery to Campus
Students should not be using their phones during the school day or District equipment to order food and have it delivered to campus. Please make sure your child knows that is not acceptable.
Testing for Natives Speakers of Spanish Classes for 2018-19
