Friday, January 30, 2015 JettaI just test drived a VW Jetta, and although it is such a good car it didn't relly impress me that much. It is probably over engineered for me. I didn't feel I am directly in charge, and there is this computer between me and the wheels that is calling the shot. Is toyota Corolla or Mitsubishi Lancer or even Ford Focus any better? We'll see.
P.s. How about a VW Golf?No comments: Sunday, September 7, 2014 ImagineImagine you are in heaven. Imagine when you were on earth, before you passed away, you were badly in love with your husband or wife. Imagine your love was so pure, so passionate, so honest, so true. Imagine you are and were a true believer in God. You were and are a Christian/Muslim/Jew, whatever. Imagine your partner happened to be an atheist. You always tried to enlighten him or her, but he was never convinced, no matter how much he or she loved you. You always prayed to your god to help him/her open his/her heart to God. Sadly, truly sadly he/she never accepted the creator. He/she nevertheless was as deeply in love with you as you were.
Now, you are in heaven. You are given eternal health, wealth, best of every thing. All your fellow heaven residents are also healthy and wealthy. All needs of everyone is met to the fullest. There is endless food, the best drinks, the most expensive wine is always available on a buffet all the time. No one needs money to buy things. The best of every thing is available for free for everyone. There is no doctor as no one ever gets sick. No one even needs to work as every possible necessity is provided for free forever. Really forever. It is like you are living by the side of the most beautiful beach. The view is stunning. The weather is perfect. The food in impeccable. The wine; don't even mention it, you have to drink it to believe it.
There is only one thing you are missing. And you are missing it so badly. Your true love. Your only love. He/she is not with you. He/she can't be with you. After all God did try to help him save himself. He didn't want to. He was so stubborn. God even sent you on his way, so you could help him open up his heart to God. But he didn't want to believe in God as his creature. He didn't want to love God. This is his fault.
And all you know of him is that he is somewhere in hell. Forever. He can't be saved. He didn't want to be saved. No one can help him. It's too late. On one hand you blame him for his suffering, on the other hand your heaven, has turned into another form of suffering. The thought of your love being burnt for eternity has made your heaven a hell as well, and you have to take it forever. After all you come to realize that the sought after heaven, can never be heaven for you.
All you can do is sit back in your deck chair, gaze at the distant horizon, and wish the eternal heaven could some day come to an end. You wonder why the universe had to be created like this. Why Heaven had to be such a lonely a place. No comments: Tuesday, June 24, 2014 Current state of affairs.

It's been a long time since I wrote a blog post last. Eventuaaly here I am behind my iPad.

The little baby keeps me fairly busy. But again I don't think family work balance is a myth. I'm starting to settle at my new job of 9 to 5 if that a good thing. And the baby is growing well n the mummy is fine.

The hot topic, apart from the world cup is the Iraq crisis. My short argument is that the mess in Iraq and the neighbiuring countries is the results of generations of brutal oppression, coupled with the religeous violent teachings and social and sexual frustrations of the poor masses of the middle east. Sadly it seems the middle east can't learn from the lessons of the painstaking experience of the transformation from dark to enlightened Europe and needs to pay its price in blood to maybe finally grow out of the current baseness. No comments: Monday, March 10, 2014 UpdatesOur baby is 7 weeks old and increasingly naughty. The challenges of being a dad is keeping me pretty much consumed and there is no time or energy for some of the activities I used to do before. But it is awarding and I have no regrets.
Mummy is more involved with child rearing and seems to be preparing to set the baby going and find a job for herself. She was just awarded with a PhD and I hope the degree help her find a job.
It is interesting to have to work full-time and be a dad of a newborn. It is so energy intensive, lol. You might not believe this but I am considering a second or third babies, but before that we need to get a bigger place to live.
I still think having a family in Australia must be easier than many other countries. Australian life is pretty much family centred. Shops, shopping malls and many cafes close at 6 pm on weekdays. So I guess baby Arlen is lucky he was born in Oz.

The other news is that I just watched another video about the evil of North Korea, Kim Jung Un' regime. There is this heart wrenching video about incessant abuses committed by the regime. Find the video here:
http://www.christianpost.com/news/north-koreas-kim-jong-un-reportedly-orders-execution-of-33-people-for-talking-with-christian-missionary-to-start-500-churches-115675/

One of my many dreams is witnessing the collapse of the regime and having the leaders put to trial.
Amongst my other dreams is freedom for people of Iran and Palestine among others.

See you until the next update.

No comments: Sunday, January 26, 2014 I became papa ...I became a papa. My baby is 10 days old. It is interesting for me to see how the baby is going to change my world view. So far there has been one tangible change; my increased respect for life, parenthood and humanity. Life, because I can see how fragile and vulnerable it is. Parenthood because I can see how selfless sacrifices is needed to raise a baby. And humanity because most humans are babies at some point, and sometimes parents as well.No comments: Friday, November 15, 2013 Who creates babies? God or parents? If God is the ultimate creator and soul injector, why is that any two random people of opposite sex can potentially reproduce? If babies are blessings why rapists can impregnate women many of whom opt to abortion? If someone doesn't want to get blessed why to push the blessing in their face?
It seems the authority to decide there should or should not be a baby is awarded to any sexual partners. A responsible God would not create millions of newborns who starve to death, drawn in tsunamis and floods, buried alive in earthquakes, or get raped and murdered to death?
Let's put it into perspective. In most democracies pet breeders by law are legally responsible to take care of their puppies and kittens and meet all their physical and mental needs until they find equally responsible hosts or buyers. They would get prosecuted if they subject their animals to any form of physical or non-physical abuse or mistreatment. However when it comes to creation of human beings it seems to me that God, if the creator, is not bound to anything remotely near these basic obligations. He or she has irresponsibly given the formula of creation to any random two people without giving a damn to the consequences we witness everyday. A few days ago I heard the story of a 2 months old baby washed away and drowned in the Philippine typhoon in front of both his parents' eyes. He can't be in a divine test. What type of evil and heinous test is that? The bottom line is the almighty God should not create the universe and babies in it and let them suffer on his watch and without doing anything to help. If God exists, our outrage to his inconsiderate method of creation is the least he deserves and it would be morally wrong if he once again warned us of hell before explaining his atrocious world humanity is confined to.
There are tons of better ways to run a universe and it doesn't take a genius to think of one. Imagine we were living in a world where only committed couples who are in true love could get pregnant and miraculously no pregnancy could ever happen in broken families, cases of rape or casual encounters. That would self evidently prove the existence of God. But our God or gods, is either an imaginary one or a non-loving and non-almighty one.
The more I think about it the more I am convinced that we are wasting our time and resources to worship supernatural beings. This is probably why organised religions usually discourage free thinking. I find it very hard to believe that there are hundreds of millions of believers in the world. That well explains why there are so many dictatorships in the world today. If one cannot rid himself/herself of this imaginary tyranny, secretly in her mind and her thoughts, how can she rid herself of a real physical oppressive power. That works for Iranians, Egyptians, Saudis, Syrians, and much of the rest of religious nations.
In conclusion, all it takes to obtain freedom of mind is a basic tool called rational thinking. Sadly too many of us lack courage to use the crude tool.No comments: Saturday, November 9, 2013 Where Is God's Love?Hundreds of people including many women and children are feared dead and hundreds of thousands displaced in the Philippines, one of the most populous Catholic countries in the world.
Here one big question looms large; where is God's love? Why didn't he stop the typhoon from hitting the archipelago? Clearly he has the power to do that. After all he has created the universe and innumerous galaxies. Preventing a typhoon from happening would be a tiny little task that costs him nothing. Yet he chose to stand aside and watch innocent children getting killed and displaced?
The "God is testing" argument is too weak, as you cannot and should not subject little children to such harsh tests. It's inhumane and wrong.
There are three answers I can think of. Either god wanted but could not stop the disaster, which means he is not almighty. In this case the proposition "God created the universe" also becomes questionable. How could he have created the universe when he cannot even stop a typhoon? The second possible answer is he could but chose not to do anything, which translates into he is not a loving and caring god. Lastly and most straight forward answer is that he does not exist.
The people of the Philippines should stop wasting their time and donations in church, and redirect them to a nationwide campaign to establish and fund civil engineering institutes to study and prepare their houses and public infrastructure so when the next natural disaster happened as few people as possible get affected. Filipinos need to grow up and accept the obvious truth that there is no supernatural hand watching and taking care of them, their prayers cannot help improve their lives and above all they should accept the bitter fact that church has never intended to cast any blessings upon them, it never had such ability and is established in the first place solely to dominate, control and avail of free flow of unconditional cash.No comments: Older PostsHomeSubscribe to:Posts (Atom)About MeUnknownView my complete profileLabelsDiary(3)Letters(2)Melbourne(1)Philosophy(6)Blog Archive 2015(1) January(1)Jetta 2014(4) September(1) June(1) March(1) January(1) 2013(24) November(4) May(3) April(11) February(6)
