What happened? Here’s the reality that families, and students have faced, and will continue to face in the near future. The 2019-20 academic year ended in the midst of a global pandemic, and in chaos. Frankly, 2020-21 will likely be just as disorganized, just as disjointed, and just as messy, with the chemistry education of literally millions of students being grossly disrupted, and placed in jeopardy via hybrid and online only schedules. The only thing that is certain is that student s chemistry education will be suffering. What can you do? In two words, “seek help”. That help may be sought for many different reasons, and be in a number of different forms. Perhaps to simply keep a students’ head above water in a disrupted, hybrid school year; maybe to maintain that stellar GPA, and to protect the precious path to college; perhaps to ensure that a SAT Subject Test, or AP Exam score ultimately reflect the true academic ability of the student; or simply to help fill the gaps in the preparation for tests at school that this year will inevitably bring. How does it work? I can provide everything from simple, remote one-on-one tutoring, through to a much more comprehensive plan, including specific, tailor-made strategies, and materials. It should be noted that remote tutoring is NOT a new thing for me, hastily cobbled together to adapt to the current circumstances, rather it has been my preferred method of operation for close to a decade. Inspired by your book, I would steal my brother’s textbooks to read at night, set up the family camera to film my own chemistry videos, and – most importantly – I started experimenting at home. I took my Chemistry GCSE (I live in the UK) aged twelve, four years early. I was the youngest student in the country to get a GCSE A* in 2014 in any subject.
