Celebrating 35 years of changed lives

Everyone has the right to live in the community of their choice.

That’s why we’re here. Our services help with developing independence, learning new skills and living in the community of one’s choice.

We serve individuals with developmental disabilities, adults with physical disabilities, elders, very young children who are developmentally delayed or at risk, and children with behavioral health needs.

We are a nonprofit human service organization, and have served southern southeast Alaska for over 30 years.

Early Learning Program

Children's Mental Health

Senior & Disability Services

For individuals with developmental disabilities and seniors who require assistance to remain in their community of choice and with achieving their life goals.

2021 Annual Sock Drive

Thank you to all who donated and worked hard this holiday season to make our Holiday Sock Drive a success!

With your support we have continued to make a difference in the lives of children, seniors, and adults with disabilities. In total we were able to serve 200 individuals throughout our programs in Ketchikan and on Prince of Wales Island. The donations received, truly brightened the days of those in our community. From cash contributions to donated clothing, hand-knitted hats and homemade cookies, each of these items brought joy to those in need. We are grateful for your partnership.

There have been many times as a single mom I have felt so alone. The ELP staff have always been a great comfort to me during those times, sharing information and reminding me that I'm not alone. They offer advice, solutions and goals that are so helpful. My daughter and I both look forward to their visits so that we can show what new things have been accomplished since the last visit.ParentEarly Learning ProgramMy son’s counselor is very sensitive and insightful and has made such a strong connection with him. She has helped him see things about himself that he needed and made him face his own imaginings in a way that made him a more whole and deeper person. She has been kind to my son and to me in the truest sense of the word. ParentChildren's Mental HealthMy support staff helps me grocery shop and has been teaching me how to cook. He helps show me how to pick greens off of the beach so that I could give them to grandma and other elders. He is helping me to stay out of trouble. I also want to say he helps me to not get really angry, to just talk to people and tell them my feelings.Community memberSenior & Disability Services
