Socio-economic inequalities in rural communities drives cultural and environmental degradation. Lack of access to basic services in times of need causes communities to turn the exploitation of natural resources. It is hard to engage in conservation when faced with the hardships of rural poverty.
Our model creates the enabling conditions for communities to conserve biodiversity and tackle socio-economic injustices.

We create the enabling conditions for rural communities to engage in good governance of their natural resources. Our rights-based approach addresses the root causes of biodiversity loss - rural poverty, gender inequality, and food security. We believe community-led conservation is a solution to climate change, rural poverty, and species loss.

Conservation Cooperatives
Conservation Cooperatives are community-led organizations that engage in the management of at-risk ecosystems. These CCs are the platforms where we administer services to communities to secure rights over resources, reduce opportunity costs of conservation, and support inclusive governance.

More than 150,000 seedlings have been planted on degraded lands. We work with communities to both protect AND restore ecosystems. Our plantings focus on native species that have value for both humans and wildlife.
