It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Chuck Cady, long time local fan, costume wearer (with his family) and art collector (particularly centaurs)
He passed away of natural causes on the morning of Friday, August 5th.
He willed his body to the U of A Medical School.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 3rd from noon to 6 pm at the family home in Glendale, Arizona. Email the webmaster for directions.
Chuck was known for humorous costuming to body type
- he was the Cyclops with a 10 year old Odysseus and his 7-10 year old crew
- With his baby son Sam he did ZaphodBeeblebrox’s older and younger brother
- With his wife of 20 some years he did ‘Nymph and satyr – 20 years later”
RIP
He will be missed
In this class you will learn how to accomplish this effect and discuss novel applications too!
This class is free to attend, materials not included. We are asking $20 for all the materials to create your own hot coal effect.
Register and pay here: https://guestlist.co/events/722406
This is a BUILD class. If you do not show for the build, there is no refund and neither HeatSync nor AZ Haunters will provide any compensation after the event is over.
SWCG will have a fan table in the hallways. Come meet us.
Theeeeeey're BAAaaack! - One of the most popular of the AZ Haunters events has returned - Demented Dolls!
Once thought lost forever in the detritus of 2020, this workshop has crawled out into the light once again.
This make and take will cover some of the basics touched on in previous years, PLUS we will be talking about some techniques not previously shown.
We want this to be accessible to everyone so here's the deal:
For $10 per doll, you get a doll and all the materials to corrupt it. $20 for two dolls, you get the picture.
The money goes to pay for the supplies and to give some to he Lab for their support.
If you want to just show up and listen, that's cool.
If you pay for a doll and cannot make it to the event, you will have two weeks to arrange to come pick up the unaltered doll. There is no guarantee what kind of doll it will be and no additional supplies can be provided.

December 20, 2022 – Roadmarks by Roger Zelazny FromAmazon.com: “The Road runs from the unimaginable past to the far future, and those who travel it have access to the turnoffs leading to all times and places—even to the alternate time-streams of histories that never happened. Why the Dragons of Bel'kwinith made the Road—or who they are-—no one knows. But the Road has always been there and for those who know how to find it, it always will be!”
