We will have a drive-up option, where we will implement necessary social distancing to provide a safe packet pick-up. However, if you live further away or prefer to have your packet mailed, we will do so for an additional $5 fee. If you select the mail option, race packets will be mailed beginning June 11 and will continue through June 20, when registration ends.Friday, June 12, 2p-8p @ Grace Church Eden Prairie (9301 Eden Prairie Road)**If you register after June 12, we will accommodate packet pick-ups, as needed, the week of June 15 at the Grace Church location or we can mail packets.Race DetailsEven though we cannot gather as a large group, we can still make an impact. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers across Minnesota and our country to help #StoptheTrafficking. Walk or run 3.1 miles (5K) sometime between June 13 through June 21. Let us know that you completed your race (specific details will be emailed to participants). Race results will be ranked for those who enter their finish times, and we’ll recognize the top 3 male and 3 female finishers.Each participant will receive a race packet, including a dry-fit t-shirt and additional race swag. We will continue to accept race registrations through June 20. Individual race results can be posted through June 21.Interested in raising additional funds?All funds received through this link will go to the anti-trafficking organizations benefiting from this year’s race.Stop the Trafficking is a collaborative event that began in 2013, with the goal of coming together as a community to raise awareness and engage in the fight to end human trafficking. Our team, comprised of representatives from local churches, businesses and the City of Eden Prairie, works together to plan this event. Our intent is to show that modern day slavery is an injustice that touches all facets of society, therefore, we all need to come together to end it.Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. There are an estimated 25 million slaves in the world today, more than any other time in history.Our communities are personally affected by human trafficking including the sexual exploitation of children. The average age a child becomes a victim of sex trafficking in the United States is 12 – 14 years old, and at least 100,000 children are exploited every year within our borders. This has not slowed down due to the pandemic. Sadly, there are trends indicating an increase in the online exploitation of children.All proceeds from the race will be designated to organizations working to help sexually exploited youth and women. We select MN-based organizations, along with one international organization, with a focus on those providing direct services to victims. We have an application process that also accounted for impact related to COVID-19.
