MR2 Roadster Owners Club The home of MR2 Roadster, Spyder and MR-S enthusiasts worldwide Enter The MR2 Roadster Unlike its earlier siblings the third generation MR2 known as the MR-S in Japan, the MR2 Spyder in the United States and the MR2 Roadster in the UK, was designed as a convertible and this is perhaps the defining feature that many ROC'ers favour. Although Toyota ceased production in 2006 the Roadster's design, with it's mid engine layout, light weight and steer-ability still offers handling that is peerless on a value for money basis. You may be considering a "new" car as a daily commute vehicle, a weekend runabout or a track day toy. Members on here use their Roadster as one or the other or even all three. As a daily, the Roadster has the ability to brighten up the dreariest Monday morning, on a cold day the heater is a toaster, quickly warming the driver with the hood (top) up or down, which is the work of seconds. For weekends, the "cubbies", luggage compartments behind the seats, have capacity for soft holdalls or a set of golf clubs! The front storage compartment, that also accommodates the space saver spare wheel will accommodate a small soft bag or hiking boots. On the track the Roadster, in original form, will not disappoint. Not the fastest in a straight line but this is more than compensated by its abilities around the bends. If the track bug does bite, the Roadster is a fine platform for power and suspension mods that are well documented in the Forum.
