Mike Authers was brought up in Abingdon and vividly remembers as a small child watching new MG Midgets being put through their road tests. Also seeing the export models being driven through the town to the railway station and loaded onto the waiting trains bound for the docks. The Abingdon factory assembled MG’s from 1929 to its closure in 1979 plus Austin Healeys and a few other BMC marques.
