Your ad here, right now: $0 I know that you were expecting a comic update today.  But I felt the need to do something different.I wanted to post this sooner, but in truth, I found myself struggling with the words. As you all know by now, on Sunday June 12, 2016, the Pulse Club, a popular gay club in Orlando Florida was the location of a horrifying act of violence against the LGBTQ community.  You see, what started as a regular night of fun, drinks and dancing, ended when 50 gay, bisexual and even straight men and women were murdered in cold blood, while an additional 53 were left injured.103 people were harmed that night. The LGBTQ community is no stranger to acts of hatred and bigotry.  For as far back as anyone can remember, we have heard stories, or witnessed first hand acts of hatred against us solely for who we loved, or for how we self-identified ourselves. We know the stories of Harvey Milk, and Matthew Shepard and countless others.  We ve suffered through political legistlation that has denied us basic human rights. We have been bullied in our schools.  We have been called every offensive word that hateful people could come up with. And yes, we have suffered violence.  We have been abused.  We have been beaten. We have been killed.  We have been made to fear for our lives every day.But June 12th was something different.  Because this was something bigger.  This was something that the entire world could not ignore. This event has been labeled as the Worst Mass Shooting in the History of the United States .  And it was directed at US.  The gays, the lesbians, the transgenders, the bisexuals, and all the many other men and woman and others who make up the LGBTQ community.  We were the targets.  We were again made the victims of violence. The month of June is known across the country as Pride Month.  A time made to both celebrate being a member of the LGBTQ community, but more importantly, to remember the continuing struggle that we have suffered. Furthermore, in Los Angles, this was weekend was the official Pride festival for the city.  But because of the actions in Florida, and another near act of violence, many people found themselves fearful of attending pride. And I sit here, and beg you: DON T DO THAT.Do not let fear control you. Do not let fear make you afraid to celebrate with your friend and loved ones. Do not let fear keep you from coming out.  Do not let fear keep you from being who you are.Remember, that the LGBTQ community is just that. A community. We are unified together under our shared histories, our stories, our desire to love and be loved.  We are bound together through love and pain.  And together we are stronger than anyone realizes.Love is love.  Love will win.Find those in your life who support and love you, and remind them that you love and support them too.Shake hands with your allies.  Hug you family. Kiss you lover.Be happy.Be safe.Be the community that will not let fear break us.Do not let angry and fear darken your hearts. We are strong.Together.And please, take a moment to remember those who we lost. Hey gang,So as many of you have noted, and many have e-mailed or tweeted me, you re probably wondering why I haven t updated.  The problem has been due to a multitude of problems.  First, my computer was having a multitude of problems.  First the screen started to glitch, then the computer wouldn t load or shut down, then the programs (in particular photoshop) wouldn t work.  I ve had to take my computer to the Apple Store multiple times during the last couple of months to try and get it fixed, and they ve ended up having to take the computer and send it to their main repair center to execute said repairs.  But they kept missing stuff or making it worse or something. I don t know.Meanwhile, my backup computer (the older one that I got way back in 2002), which I used in the event the newer one is having problems, made the mistake of trying to download the latest operating system.  Which caused the entire thing to have a nervous breakdown.  It would not work in any way, shape or form.  So I had to take that one to the Apple store too, and they had to wipe everything off it, and restore it to factory setting.  Which mean I could not longer use it for graphic design work, because I coul it up, and the old Operating system could not handle the latest version of Adobe that I have (the old version that was on it belonged to a friend who longer has it himself). So that computer is no longer my back-up emergency computer for work.In any case, they recently returned my newer computer me, and I m HOPING it ll work again.Other issues meanwhile that have popped up is that my regular job has been having me work extended hours, and double shifts due to a decrease of employees.  This means better money, but as I m at times working from 9 am until 2 am, I don t have much time to work on my comic. Then there was the fact that my brother and his family recently moved back to the East Coast from California, while at the same time, having a baby.  Congrats by the way to them and the birth of my second nephew.  I d say his name and the details, but for their privacy, I m sure you ll understand, and we shall just call him Baby Bueno Diaz.  But during the month leading up to both the birth and move, I was helping them out during my days off with packing and babysitting the elder nephew.  And anyone who has ever had to take care of a 4 year old during summer vacation, you know how exhausting that can be.I will be working on getting the comic back on track again, but I may end up altering the approach.  I may switch to black and white strips instead of color for a time, and as mentioned before I will no longer trying to match the strip with current events (i.e. matching up holidays and seasons with reality). Thanks for you patience and see you soon.A. So I m getting ready to do the 2015 Halloween storyline.  And as I love to do, its time to put the cast into their Halloween Costumes! But I m trying to figure out what to dress them up as!  Giving you the readers the chance to suggest ideas.  If they seem to suit the characters, I may use them. Here are the comics that came before:Do you recall all the past costumes?I look forward to suggestions! So today, Marriage Equality was passed by the Supreme Court of the United States of America.  That means that as of today, the same-sex couples are allowed to get married in all 50 states!LOVE WINS!
