Grada Kilomba | Frieze Tate Fund 2020 Goodman Gallery congratulates Grada Kilomba on the recent acquisition by the Tate of her works Illusions Vol. I, Narcissus and Echo (2017) and Illusions Vol. II, Oedipus (2018), made possible by the Frieze Tate Fund, supported by Endeavor.Alongside Tate s curators, this year s selection panel included guest curators Mark Sealy, Director of Autograph and Principal Fellow Decolonising Photography at University of Arts London and Kaelen Wilson-Goldie, writer and critic and contributing editor for Bidoun.Illusions Vol. I was commissioned by the 32nd São Paulo Biennial, in 2016, and Illusions Vol. II was commissioned by the 10th Berlin Biennial in 2018. Both films were included on Kilomba s solo exhibition, Poetic Disobediences, at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo in 2019. Most recently, the Bildmuseet in Umeå, Sweden, commissioned the third Illusions film, which was shown alongside Vol. I and II in 2019. News Haroon Gunn-Salie | Residency Solo Exhibition | Zeitz MOCAA (Cape Town) Group Exhibition | Swiss Institute (New York) Haroon Gunn-Salie is currently producing an exhibition at Zeitz MOCAA through an open residency. Titled Line in the Sand (until 10 January 2021), the project draws together a decade of site-specific interventions, public artworks, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Through a process of taking stock and collective reframing of the terms of engagement around how to create and ensure an ethical and equitable socially-engaged collaborative art practice, Gunn-Salie will use the museum as a space to reorient his practice.Gunn-Salie is featured in a group exhibition at the Swiss Institute in New York, titled Haunted Haus (Until 20 December 2020). The group exhibition features works by 20 artists that reflect on the spirits we project into the world, the forces that insist without existing, and the anachronism and experience of haunting. News Kapwani Kiwanga | Solo Exhibitions | Centre Pompidou (Paris), Haus der Kunst (Munich) Kapwani Kiwanga has been awarded the prestigious 2020 Prix Marcel Duchamp. Facilitated by the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the ADIAF, the prize has been given annually to an artist working in France since 2001. Alongside artists shortlisted for the prize, Kiwanga is exhibiting her work Flowers for Africa at the Centre Pompidou until 4 January 2021.A series of major site-specific installations by Kapwani Kiwanga is currently installed in the Haus der Kunst under the exhibition title, Plot. Divided into three “acts”, Plot will unfold over the course of five months with the introduction of new works onto the museum’s colonnades and surrounding landscape.
