It has outlived many other worthy websites, but maintains its niche in providing an easy introduction to the amazing diversity of Southeast Asia's vertebrates. The website includes more than 800 factsheets, made easily accessible by a simple top-down menu system. And nice photos too, all taken in natural settings. 2019 saw the sad demise of Arkive, a worthy attempt at a global gateway to wildlife information and images. Wikipedia now hosts a lot of wildlife information, but the photos are often taken in managed settings such as zoos or aquaria. Ecology Asia is widely used as a student resource: I receive many well-written emails from school or university students requesting permission to use an image or two. We continue to host a simple online short-note publication entitled 'Southeast Asia Vertebrate Records' or SEAVR. Submissions from the Philippines now dominate SEAVR, which is a grateful contribution. Recent SEAVR include a notable cobra record, a range extension for Hipposideros lekaguli -a species of roundfeaf bat, and feeding behaviour of Cynopterus brachyotis, a fruit bat, on non-native Piper aduncum: Equatorial Spitting Cobra on Pangulasian Island, Palawan Province, Philippines.
