The African Violet Society of America   (AVSA) welcomes you!     AVSA is the connecting place for people around the globe whose common interest is one amazing plant - the African violet.  This fascinating plant, hailed as “America’s Favorite Houseplant,” provides color and beauty in the home all year long.  As a non-profit, educational organization, AVSA is dedicated to helping African violet enthusiasts successfully grow, show, propagate, and hybridize these beautiful plants.      The primary educational tool of AVSA is the African Violet Magazine. Members enjoy this bimonthly publication with its color photographs and articles on everything about African violets.     Exploring this website will introduce you to the world of AVSA. You will discover local clubs and African violet shows to visit, sources for plants and growing supplies, African violet books and DVDs available in our store, and an annual convention to attend.  Violets 101 has FAQs, videos, and more – all to help you grow beautiful plants.  For your enjoyment, there are hundreds of African violet pictures in our photo gallery.     You are invited to join us in this wonderful African violet hobby!   The African Violet Society of America presented the 2020 Virtual Violet Convention in lieu of our annual convention.Check out new introductions, virtual show rooms, educational presentations, Selfies Gallery and more!All events are free and open to the public.Many events will remain open all summer for your enjoyment.Click here to visit the Virtual Convention It's easier than ever to register your new hybrids with AVSA.  Find more information about Plant Registration on the "About Us" page in the top right corner or click here. Members can log in to access the area of the website reserved for them - Member Content. Click on "For Members" at the right end of the horizontal menu above to access the login window.  On the login window enter your AVSA Membership number and your last name exactly as it is on your African Violet Magazine label.   Be sure to use any punctuation or capital letters that are used in your last name exactly as printed on your Membership Card. The Membership Card is found on the white outside cover of your African Violet Magazine. Locate your membership number, which is the 3- to 5-digit number located above your first name on the Membership Card and note how your last name is spelled.
