Description:

I have to say that in the past three weeks, I have been accumulating skin care and make-up products in my quest for the best possible regimen and it all started with a news article that was in my Google news feed What Every Guy Can Learn from Kim Kardashian West s Skincare Routine. In this article, what caught me most was the emphasis on La Mer products.I went on the La Mer Europe website and started browsing at the many products available from the brand. In the end, all I really, really wanted to buy was the La Mer Renewal Oil. It sounded very promising! In the end, I walked out with the La Mer foundation, concealer, and bronzing powder instead. Before this, my entire make-up collection consisted of everything Sephora. I have been living make-up free since I moved to El Nido in 2013 so I didn t know anything. What I liked about my Douglas boutique experience was I got the exact shade of foundation and concealer that I would have gotten wrong had I bought them on the website. To be honest, I already had the foundation and powder in my cart on the website but actually testing for the right shade was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. Continue Reading Share: I am in the process of curating my skincare regimen to get the best results possible while making it the simplest too.First off, let s compare the descriptions of these two products according to their own respective websites.Sukin HYDRATING MIST TONER AUD10.95WINNER BEAUTY HEAVEN BEST IN BEAUTY AWARDS BEST TONER 2014Our alcohol-free Hydrating Mist Toner combines Rosewater and Chamomile to help soothe, purify and cool tired skin. I like it the way it is and I have so far been largely satisfied with the shampoo and conditioner I have been using for the past three years the Organix Renewing+ Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Organix Renewing+ Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner. I just want to try something different.Among the Organix products, I ve also tried the Brazilian Keratin Therapy shampoo and conditioner, the Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil shampoo and conditioner, the Healing+ Vitamin E Shampoo and Conditioner, and none of them worked for me as well as the Argan Oil. I first discovered Argan Oil in Sardinia in the summer of 2014. I found a bottle of 100% Argan Oil lying around the house. Back then I had frustratingly dry hair that was damaged by too much salt water caused by living by the sea and being in the sea. Continue Reading Share: I love everything about Aesop EXCEPT the price. I was in Melbourne last year when I first encountered the brand. Suave Australian beauty brand Aesop has some of the most cutting-edge stores around, including its simple but seductive wood-lined Fitzroy boutique at 242 Gertrude Street (+61 (0)3 9419 8356), designed by local architect Clare Cousins and Aesop director Dennis Paphitis. Aesop was so inspired by the streetscape’s eclectic mix of characters, shops and great bread, pizza and wine purveyors, it even named one of its glam skincare kits Gertrude Street. Inside Melbourne #5One thing I love about Aesop, aside from their shop design, is that because they know their prices are a bit on the steep side, they do not put any pressure on you to buy right away. Instead, they give you advice and give samples for you to try. If you happen to like it and get convinced enough to buy, then at least you did not have to waste your money on a product you already shelled out a lot of money for only to turn out to be allergic to or unsuitable for your skin.Continue Reading Share: I am not going to suddenly become a beauty blogger because I have never been that much into beauty or make-up but I will post my thoughts and experiences, reviews in short, about the products I own and use. Shortly after I started dating my Italian now-husband, I slowly began to obsess about good food, health, and fitness. He made such an emphasis on living a good life by eating healthy, fresh, and delicious, even to the point of being expensive, food; having an active lifestyle, and sleeping well. I never cared much for any of those. I ate what I wanted. I barely exercised and have never been to any gym. I slept at odd hours of the day and night for periods of three hours every time. He changed all those. Also, I hit thirty-five and every article I read on health and fitness seem to mention skincare. Wear sunscreen! Use moisturizer! Start using anti-aging products! This Ultrasonic Cleanser combines ultrasonic ions (positive and negative) with electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to cleanse and lift the skin. Ultrasonic technology combined with positive ions may help clean the pores of dirt and debris. Ultrasonic technology combined with negative ions may help deliver nutrients from serum or face cream deep into skin’s layers. Gentle EMS currents use a unique secondary movement which may help tighten facial muscles and improve elasticity. Compact and rechargeable via USB. Continue Reading Share: At the beginning, I did not want to blog about this but it gnawed on me all night. That feeling that something extraordinary has happened to me that I just have to share with the rest of the world. What is the lesson in this story? That it pays to be nice, all the time, even if you are being disrespected and treated badly, and even if you know it is not your fault. That one must always stand up for oneself but not lose his or her head. It pays to treat others with respect regardless of their profession and that they are truly more than what meets the eye. That is is good to apologize, to accept apologies, and to give thanks where gratitude is due.I was thankful to the other lady who rescued me from the first one when she was beside herself in anger. And I was thankful when the other lady, after realizing her mistake, apologized to me. I accepted her apology wholeheartedly and graciously.Continue Reading Share: At least that s what the website of FlyScoot informed me as I was booking our flights from Bangkok to Manila with a short lay over in Singapore. In Singapore, Lia would have to get off at Changi to meet her other father to spend eight days with him this summer as part of our agreement that he gets to spend a minimum of 30 days per year with her, depending of course, on his availability, travel plans, business meetings, and over-all career. After this short lay over, I then proceed to Manila alone. Lia would then be flown in to Manila after eight or so days by her own father, where she would be reunited with me, and from Manila, she and I together will take the return flight to Torino then to Sardegna via Turkish Airlines and Meridiana. Such is the complex life of an eight-year old child with Filipino parents whose marriage has been annulled and are living in different parts of the world. Continue Reading Share: This is turning out to be a summer that I am immensely enjoying in stark contrast to my previous summers in Sardegna, marked by countless packing and unpacking of bags as I struggled to remain in a positive mood, enough to last three months, in an island where I did not speak the language, and transportation was limited.Perhaps it is largely because of my recent adoption of a dog that found me on the street. For months, I truly knew I needed one. Despite my best efforts in adopting one from a shelter, it was met with a number of disappointments and not a few times of crying outbursts that lasted through the night. These days I look forward to waking up in the morning. I do my stretches while I wait for my coffee.I give our adopted cat and dog their morning meals before sitting to enjoy the cool morning and my black Illy or Lavazza coffee. Afterwards, my Maremma-Golden Retriever mix of a dog that I had named Poldo, and I go on our hour-long morning walks to nearby beaches. Aside from helping me get fit, these quiet walks make for great time for reflection, and planning the rest of the day. Or I go on my Duolingo app to achieve my daily goal of 100 XP or more, improving my Italian or learning French. I am having the time of my life.Continue Reading Share: It was our last day in Australia and we were taking a direct flight from the Coolangatta airport to Changi. I was going to pick up Lia then fly back to Manila with her while Fabio was taking a connecting flight back to Turin. I went to the nearby shops to buy some make up that was requested by a friend, and for the first time, found the shop that is Typo, and subsequently fell in love with it. I will always love Typo and wish they would have shops in Europe. We made plans to have dinner with a friend of mine from El Nido who married an Australian and living in the city. We did not make it in time for dinner though but managed to visit them at their home. We had good times over drinks and tapas. We also made a promise to come back and stay longer next time.We had lunch and drinks by the beach the next day before packing, checking out of the hotel, and being picked up by our Uber driver in a Chrysler.Continue Reading Share:
