The first ever online EX-CHANGE exhibition launches at exchange.soa.cmu.edu Fri 04 Sep at 5pm EST, set to music by DJ HUNY for the first 24 hours. Additional virtual events take place September 04-13 organized by AIAS, NOMAS, and inter·punct. The Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture is pleased to welcome Sarosh Anklesaria as the T. David Fitz-Gibbon Professor of Architecture. Anklesaria is an architect and educator interested in an expansive notion of architectural agency, one that synthesizes architecture’s formal and tectonic capacities with questions of socio-ecological pertinence, across various scales and geographies. The Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Garófalo to the position of Associate Professor. In this role, she will teach graduate and undergraduate studios and seminars focused on material production and ecologically centered design. Her research, pedagogy, and practice focuses on the conjunction of natural and architectural systems. The Fall Lecture Series will focus attention on architecture and activism, and the role that architecture can have towards social equity and spatial justice. Due to the current global health crisis and university policy, the Fall 2020 Lecture Series will be held in a virtual format for all visits.
