At the RIB lab (Laboratory of Ryukyu Island Biogeography), we are trying to elucidate the causes and mechanisms of various types of evolutionary phenomena through comparative studies, fully taking an advantage of our location where each terrestrial taxon exhibits certain degree of variation in many aspects among isolated island populations. Join us to conduct a study in this fascinating region! めんそ〜れ “琉球 島嶼生物地理学 研究室" のウェブサイトへ! 当研究室では、陸生動物が島嶼に隔離されることによって起こる様々な進化学的現象について研究をしています。多くの亜熱帯の島嶼から成る琉球列島の特性を最大限に活かし、いろいろな島へ出かけて野外観察や標本採集を行い、さらに研究室での分析を通して比較研究を行える意欲的な人たちの参画を期待しています（by 戸田守）。琉球には多くの固有の陸生爬虫類が分布し、その分布範囲は種によって異なっています。しかし、全てを重ねてみれば法則性があることは明らかで、そこから種分化をもたらした外的要因をうかがい知ることができます。<<< Thank you for your visit >>>
